Hello from the Smart Museum of Art at the University of Chicago. Another issue with which we are dealing is a difference in perceived risk among our staff. Our front line staff (educators and gallery assistants, most of whom are BIPOC) feel a greater risk and are much more hesitant to reopen.

We spoke about the shared experience of "uncertainty." One thing we did here at our museum that was successful with our museum members was to reach out to everyone personally via the phone and ask them how they were doing. It was SO successful that we will be continuing that type of communication with our members going forward. We'll be relying largely on our board of directors for this.

our staff are all over the map in terms of interest in returning: some people want to return NOW and others can’t imagine returning before everyone has been vaccinated.
Simone Levine
35:54
I agree with Leslie! We are also having this issue.
Clarissa
36:13
For those of you at museums that use apps to minimize contact, how do you feel this has impacted the visitor/staff experience?
Amanda Seim
37:50
We use OnCell as and audio tour and that has come in very handy of late since visitors use their phones for this...
