Q- Are you fundraising now?
Grace Gasper
28:40
We have palmetto Giving Day on may 5
Sheila Tucker, The ARK of SC
28:40
I have been on hold for fund raising. How do we begin now?
Lili Coleman
28:42
We rescue food so we are asking all grocery store for funding and keeping our eyes on all COVID-19 grants
Daniel Prohaska
29:00
We are fundraising. Pivoting our traditional approach a bit... We're gearing up for Palmetto Giving Day on May 5th with matching gifts.
Kristin Garner
29:07
We are adapting efforts for digital options and pursuing a potential match in May
Rachel Cole
29:28

Jennifer Stoudemire
29:33
we are getting ready to lauch Midlands Gives Campaign for Dream Riders which is our largest frundraiser.
Barbara Rackes
30:07
We are fundraising based on the considerable and pretty obvious need to have more women in leadership. The only effective asks - and there are some - are very personal, one-to-one.
Lana Kleiman
30:20
we had to cancel our big anniversary event and haven’t attempted to fundraise since
Kristin Garner
30:45
Thank you for that!
Jacquie Atkins
30:58
YES!
Sallie Harrell
31:03
We're keeping an existing virtual fundraiser, but changing the focus of funds from internal to a COVID-19 Relief Fund.
Cara from Beginnings SC
31:09
We postponed/cancelled? our yearly fundraiser.
Sarah Covington-Kolb
31:24
We had to cancel our March for Babies because of the virus; put together a step tracking app to enable virtual walking. But, not sure how that is going to compare to the MFB, which is our most major fundraiser for the year.
Dean Hybl
31:25
We are focusing on staying connected to our annual partners, rather than reaching out to potential new partners.
Roxanne Mills
31:53
We also postponed our spring fundraiser, a golf tournament so are feeling the effects of losing out on those dollars.
Madeleine McGee
35:25
That argument makes sense - ask and let the donors decide. - respect their ability to decide

Our mission is to grant scholarships to Hispanic highschoolers going to college. Our biggest fundraisers are a Latin Festival in Greenville (sept) and a Gala. Most probable will be cancelled. Any advises?
Dean Hybl
44:27
Our supporters are 95% businesses, not individuals. We know many of them are losing revenue and struggling to maintain employees. We are doing touch calls, but not focusing on "asking" them for money right now, even if they have not yet confirmed for this year. Do you think we should be specifically asking them to renew or is it okay to just check-in and do the ask later?
Madeleine McGee
44:29
Anyone else getting more checks in the mail?
Sarah Covington-Kolb
45:09
I would like to echo Dean's question. Many of our sponsors are local companies and manufacturers that are shuttered and losing tons of money; focused on taking care of employees. Any suggestions?
Madeleine McGee
46:05
Dean - I think you are right to just touch base. But be sure to remind folks in general how the organization is funded and the importance of their membership.
Madeleine McGee
50:27
Dean - does what Marc just shared sound like it would work for you?
Katy Motsinger
52:40
Have to leave for another meeting, but thank you so much for this information and I look forward to listening to the rest of the recording!!
Dean Hybl
52:42
Yes, I think it is definitely key that some partners may not be able to support right now, but doesn't mean they won't in the future.
Debbie Nelson
54:02
Please ask Marc a question:-)
Madeleine McGee
54:21
Any of you having great giving results?
Heather Witt
54:36
Marc: Any suggestions for a United Way, whose workplace campaigns are delaying their workplace giving?
Daniel Prohaska
54:56
Here's another board-related question: how can an organization best proceed with board recruitment of new members (if they even should!) during COVID-19?
Kristin Garner
56:11
That is a great questions Daniel
Madeleine McGee
57:12

Daniel Prohaska

01:02:13
Do you think it is important to start developing and investing in online peer-to-peer giving platforms to reach more people online?
Madeleine McGee
01:02:34
We work on a July June FY and board terms are the same. We have four members rolling off - we are asking the two who haven’t termed out to stay on the board till September. We will seek new members in July to start in Sept. instead of asking now to start in June.
Madeleine McGee
01:02:44
We are electing new officers though
Daniel Prohaska
01:04:55

People are also beginning to talk about recovery. It may be time to staff putting together a tase force on recovery efforts. Not seeing that happen in state government thought.
Madeleine McGee
01:13:04
Together SC will be holding our Board “retreat” next Monday and Tuesday as originally scheduled but doing as 3 calls of 1 1/2 hours each. We’ll let you know how it goes.

Is next week something to have board members on as well?
Madeleine McGee
01:21:22
