I'm sorry. I couldn't get on. Did you go over how to get in google classroom. The kids are invited through their school email. . . Then they need the code I believe or to accept the invite.

I'm interested in understanding tips on uploading student work. Anything my son writes/sketches that needs to be uploaded which seems like it has to be photographed, uploaded from another device, etc.
David - Moderator
37:57
@Amy - Images or pictures of student work can be uploaded from computers or mobile devices.
Candice
38:45
what happens if Share doesn't work? I have seen a warning alert error
David - Moderator
41:33
@Candice - Share from the teacher side? Tell me more.
Candice
42:28
I have tried to complete a google slide and then share the work so it can be turned in. I get an alert when I hit share
Amy Photopoulos
43:10
What is the difference between sharing a document and turning it in?
Candice
43:32
can you also delete things off the stream page after you have read them, sometimes kids get overwhelmed with all the postings
Amy Photopoulos
43:54
Yes! Could we hide things we've seen? Good idea.
David - Moderator
44:47
@Candice - Teachers will typically share a file and students will “turn in” back to the teacher. I’ll ask Jaime to speak about that near the end.
Candice
45:45
thanks david. so its a google slide to share with a teacher and then we must turn in as well??
GPP
46:01
when changing teachers why do I have to keep going back to grid to go to classroom and start over
Savana
47:48
my son goes face to face and having an issue knowing what he has turned in when he is live in school because it still is viewing as due even though my son is indicating he did it in school already
Peter BRennen
47:58
I have a question about the classroom calendar and it the teachers can invite or schedule the students so that they can see when they need to be on a meet or what they are assigned on Wednesday (i.e. music, art and other classes)? Also if the above can be done, can it be shared to a parents calendar?

Is there a way to photograph the student's written work with the Chromebook so it can be attached to an assignment? I'm currently scanning with my phone and emailing it to myself, opening the email on the Chromebook, downloading to the Chromebook and then attaching it to the assignment.
Amy Photopoulos
50:16
Thank you for answering all these questions. I have another. :) My son just wrote a three page paper. To share it with the teacher, I have to photograph each page individually and upload each page. Is there an easy way to put all three pages together in GC or Google Drive for the teacher so she only has to open one document and knows which order the pages go in?
Peter BRennen
52:43
@Amy - did he hand write it?
Brandon Rush
52:54
Amy you can turn in a Google Doc as a single document, regardless of the number of pages. Please see the following link: https://support.google.com/edu/classroom/answer/6020285?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en

53:04
@Amy - The teacher should give you a requested upload format.. One option could be to take three pictures and upload. Another could be to use a free app that will change the picture into a PDF and then upload one file. Your child’s teacher should give a preference

53:38
@Brandon - Thanks

Is there a way to review an assignment after it is turned in?
David - Moderator
55:20
@Amy - Did that answer your question?
Peter BRennen
55:52
You can click unsubmit
Candice
56:42
can you show us how to use KAMI
Lauren
56:43
So does it save automatically when the student writes in the slides?
David - Moderator

Kami is not a native Google Suite app, it is an add on allowed by the district. Unfortunately this session tonight does not cover Kami
Amy Photopoulos
58:29
That helped @peterbrennen and @BrandonRush. Another parent also suggested just now that I use my iPhone to scan my son's pages in using notes, then create a PDF with them so I only have to upload/attach one document for the teacher. Thanks everyone!
Candice
59:17
how can we learn about KAMI @Brandon Rush? I have watched tutorials but elementary school kids are required to use it

where do you find all the tips again?
Amy Photopoulos
01:09:11
(We often have to wiggle the built-in mouse around for a while to get the control panel on the bottom of the screen where we can see the mute/unmute icon. It just takes a while and my son can't always be heard responding quick enough because it takes us too long to unmute.)
