I just also would like to point out that many of the library's the ARC consortium (Worcester-area academics) have faculty who really enjoy the collections of their library. Obviously is a museum-specific collection

If remote course has a scheduled "Zoom" session on a weather day, is that zoom session cancelled?
Jim Keane
37:06
Yes - it would be cancelled.
Stephen Marini
37:23
It's up to the faculty member. They certainly have the opportunity to cancel. Remember that some students may have an internet outage or power outage as well. Hope this helps.

My son's 11 am class zoomed as usual. Not sure the faculty member got the closure notice in time.

Just another thought on weather and cancelations. I appreciate the recognition that students might not be using resources at home, so might have trouble accessing remote courses on snow days - as well as the comments around students who have parents home on a snow day, and the possibility of closures. I also think some faculty had a concern, though, about canceling classes automatically, because we’re trying very hard to provide resources, support, and access for students whenever and however possible. It can feel like a missed opportunity when we have to cancel classes or meetings with students who CAN meet with us. That is, I get not penalizing students for not coming - but it feels harsh to automatically cancel a class or student meeting if I might be able to use that time to help students. I do appreciate the equity issue, though, and that we don’t want to be differentially providing support for those who have resources while not providing those same opportunities for those who do not.
