I think that is an excellent idea to integrate with hospitals! I am sure our Moms in the NICU have a high percentage of post partum depression .

yes i think many of the NICU moms can be overlooked with this important screening

I’m curious as to whether the program is actively working within the NICU to assess parental mental health status routinely.

Especially as the time of discharge occurs as this is when parental anxiety may rise.

This is incredible. Has it ever been explored whether childcare could someday be bunded in as a reimbursable wrap around service for patients?

Agreed. Something we should look into for sure. I am going to reach out to my social worker on the unit and get a better idea of how nurses can partner to ensure no mother is missed that might be struggling,

Have you had to reconfigure the physical space for your IOP groups due to COVID-19 or are they mainly convening virtually these days?

This is truly been great presentations and things to do at our respective facilities!!

Thank you very much for this very important session. How do these trainings translate into changes in provider/staff performance? How is accountability going to be tracked?

Are you going to offer more Implicit Bias trainings for those who could not make it to previous sessions?

We continually collect data from surveys on the session, and those conducted Annually as to the employee experience to study the results. Also, we conduct focus groups and analysis of patient experience data to determine the impact of the training.

Dr. Daryl Stoner, additional Implicit Bias trainings are currently not scheduled through the PA PQC. However, we plan to embed this work, and the trainings, into the PA PQC's Moving on Maternal Depression (MOMD) initiative and into the PA PQC's plans related to rolling out AIM hypertension/hemorrhage bundles. We will also explore additional training opportunities across all the PA PQC work and aims.

If mother tests positive for OUD or SUD, the social worker is consulted. I go in and explained that due Act 54 we are mandated to complete a notification for the Child welfare. As the SW, I explained that our job is to support mother and infant. I explained the role of Child Welfare and how as a care team we could offer supports. I offer support her to get into a MAT program/ In pt DA, If mother is agreeable to the Plan of Safe Care I will initial a call with CYS, local DA, Early Intervention, and a few of the community based organizations that are on our Plan of Safe Care Team to participate.

I have concerns for the mothers using MAT and how they feel they are doing what they need to do and then get reported to Childline. What are others finding with these mothers' reactions to feeling targeted or stigmatized from using MAT?
