I also wonder when phase 1 b folks will get contacted for vaccine appointments. I am 73 and have not heard anything about appts.

Also about the Coliseum again.. will the FEMA and state partnership. mean vaccines for the coliseum go direct to the site or will theyh be sent first to the County...???...

they may have also received an email reminding them to make an appointment, but they wont need one to get a second dose

Love the "old school" outreach approach. It makes a difference when folks can see and connect with an actual person when they're considering this important decision. Also emphasizes the need to engage local organizations and community leaders to support, 'translate,' and endorse the effort. Encouraged to see the increase in the vaccination rate among the Black population

Thank you for all of your work! Our nurses, firefighters and other workers are ready to volunteer. Our union halls also have large parking lots in some of the highest zip codes.

And might you share the no-show rate by site and population? This would also be helpful in assessing the outreach effort.

Sometimes the signup is the easy part of the process. Another challenge is answering the questions in the questionnaire before you can get your appointment time.

Kimi, thank you for your conversation with the Age-Friendly Council this morning. We elevated some possible solutions for transportation for individuals who can't walk to the Fremont HS site, but working with paratransit may take some time. We still need solutions especially for older adults who don't have a friend or family member to drive them.

It would be helpful to look at the numbers of appointments and numbers of vaccinations by age.

Has the need for vaccine that is packaged for home visits been elevated to the state and feds? Perhaps manufacturers can find a solution.

There seems to be a lot of energy and interest from community organizations on this call to help recruit and organize volunteers. Perhaps we can think of utilizing volunteers to effectively serve as navigators - reach out, educate, and help sign people up for appointments. We have great examples in our community like Hypertension Sunday. It seems we are primarily thinking about volunteers in terms of staffing vax sites, but maybe we can think more creatively about how to better tap all of this energy.

IHSS, Regional Center of the East Bay, The CIL and CRIL should be able help with that, Dr. Clanon
