Chrissy Thuli -she/Title I Team
02:23:36
How can we make schools more human? What resonates with you from the article, “Make Schools More Human?”What is something you learned the year that could make schools better moving forward? How have you intentionally been thinking and planning for coming back differently?
Molly Herrmann (she/her/hers)
02:24:32
I love that La Follette showed up! My kids will eventually go there.
DPI -Erin Faasuamalie (she, her, hers)
02:25:24
Yes Michelle- the "rush" of being in school, running from one class to the next!
Tracy Mueller
02:25:56
As always, it is about relationships. It is the key whether in person or virtual.
C 2 -Heather Wilson
02:27:04
It really was an eye opener for me when I would see some of my students home lives while virtual learning. Students that came to school put together and regulated. To me it reemphasizes that reality of you never know what a student is going through. I am glad to see how the article touched on this as well.
Chrissy Thuli -she/Title I Team
02:27:04
yes Tracy! Relationships are everything.
Vickie Waters
02:27:28
It appears as we re seeing a variety of options for employees work schedules and locations, that trend has been demonstrated as beneficial for students as well.
C-8 Deb Wall
02:27:38
Relationships with students and families.
C9 Heidi Lehman
02:28:30
The opportunity for building relationships with families and students has been monumental! From the article, “One of the best outcomes of the pandemic is that it forced schools to get off their treadmill and actually talk to students and parents — understand their life circumstances and how those intersected with school expectations.”
DPI -Erin Faasuamalie (she, her, hers)
02:28:35
A silver lining Chuck!
2- Julie Preman
02:29:15
I agree Chuck. I keep thinking... how can we re-create the urgency and need to communicate with each other?
Tracy Mueller
02:29:21
Nothing in education is black and white. There is a lot of gray. We are dealing with children with unique needs and much more trauma.
C-8 Deb Wall
02:30:12
So true Tracy, flexibility is key.
DPI -Erin Faasuamalie (she, her, hers)
02:31:18
Thank you Chrissy!!!
C8 Brenda Jozwiak-Boldig
02:31:19
The article is so grounding. My worry is that districts want to return to "normal" yet the circumstances are not creating that as a reality. This is my biggest worry for our staff and students.
DPI -Erin Faasuamalie (she, her, hers)
02:31:22
