Why didn't your office/this pilot program wait until everyone was placed/matched with housing before encampments residents were violently evicted? During a pandemic emergency no less.
Marc Friend
01:11:03
Can you Commit now to not sweeping any encampments until all encampment residents are connected with safe and accessible housing.

Would just note that the “clearing” in NoMa was for sidewalk space and now there are big cement blocks blocking access to everyone. Furthermore, the cdc specifically says during COvID to not clear encampment and yet dc went against that.
kris g (they/them)
01:12:55
Never forget that these sweeps bulldozed an unhoused resident who was still in his tent. Shameful!
Michaela F (she/her)
01:14:21
You said 89 out of the 111 identified have been successfully connected with housing. How are you all keeping track of residents. When an encampment is cleared, how are you all maintaining contact?
Marc Friend
01:15:25
Thank you Sondra for raising the importance of engaging the community. Those neighbors in the encampment are a part of our community

Yes! Since Andrew is out of office now, I wanted to reach out to you regarding the raised crosswalk requests for the subject intersections. We have completed the investigation for the speed issues on 14th St and 15th St, NE and the request for raised crosswalk at 14th and A St, NE, 15th and A St, NE and 15th and Constitution Ave, NE. We are happy to let you know that we plan to install the raised crosswalk at 14th and A intersection. Installing raised crosswalk at requested intersections along 15th St is not feasible due to presence of drainage inlet at these two intersections. However, we plan to install two speed tables along this segment of 15th St, one between East Capitol St and A St, NE and the other between A ST and Ames Pl, NE to slow down the traffic speed. Please let me know your comments no later than 10 business days. If we receive no comments within this timeframe, we will proceed with the design and installation of the recommended countermeasures. Thanks.
