Dr. Travis: To the panel I believe it was important to have the vaccine, so I got it as an example for my family members who were hesitant. I am concerned that the vaccine has become political and Republicans are seemingly less like to take the vaccine. Is it a "Democratic hoax"?

it is called sars-2 because a similar virus first was realized in 2003. so the molecular structure of the virus is not as recent as 2020 but 17 years.

DOVID has been given a number 19. Is there evidence of a series of viruses that lead up to what we now know as COCID-19?

Its called severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) because there is already a named SARS-CoV-1, the initial SARS virus that was circulating in 2002-2003. The virus structure is similar. Coronavirus is a family of viruses that include many viruses including some influenza (flu) and others. COVID-19 is the disease that was named and "19" came from when it was discovered (2019).

Discuss the role of churches in becoming vaccination sites

A lot of cities have community health workers it would be a good idea to have them certified to just be able to give the vaccination?

Will the vaccine become mandatory?

Depends on the jurisdiction whether they need to be certified. If they have the training to administer, or interest, in some settings they may be able to do it under the supervision of another medical professional. I think checking with your local health authority would be important about what the requirements are for people to perform vaccine administration.

DC Health has partnered with at least 5 churches as a vaccination sites. Shrne of the Sacred Heart in Ward 1, St. Luke's Catholic Church in Ward 7, Emory Fellowship UMC in Ward 4 just off the top of my head.
