another method to reduce the sensitivity of the amygdala (scientifically proven - see Richard Davidson's work) is meditation. :-)

01:31:04
This is really interesting and confirming - and i like the suggestion about meditation from Matthew. Thank you!

01:31:37
thank you Jim

01:34:14
you are most welcome Tami, I have used it extensively for 12 years

01:35:14
I would like to try getting into that - need to learn it!

01:35:28
I agree anger is useful and normal, when it is appropriate for the situation. I had anger for 43 years and my anger covered up my true emotions. Anger always comes with a buddy

01:35:58
@ Tami I like John Kabat Zins "wherever you go there you are"

01:36:15
thank you Rebecca

01:36:36
@ Rebecca I use mindfulness mediation as well and it allows me to "feel" when I do not know what the emotion is and can not name it

01:36:37
Thanks Matthew!

01:43:12
I can change my brain!

01:46:15
I wasn't allowed to express anger. Only the men in my family could. The girls and women who did were punished.

01:52:01
Rebecca, I think it's the default in many families and it makes me furious. Thank you, I'm glad to know it's possible to get in touch with.

01:52:17
Thank you!
