Sure thing Dave, another option is Menominee, County in Michigan. Don’t have their digits, but you can give them a call. I have an SIA client that used that county.

@Mike Turner - Re: "stack/file" for Treasury... i simply created my own cover sheet that summarized my intent and listed the included documents. i also had two witnesses place their authorized "signature" on it. - Just an idea.

Mike, the order of documents is laid out on the American States Assembly, under correct your status, just scroll down a bit and the order of recording is there.

@ Dave, the Midwest and Great Lakes states have been a problem with land recording for a good while now, from what I have heard.

@ Bruce, to clarify, you can still send your paperwork in, but as I understand it, some places are backed up with recording papers, like Lamar County, Georgia. So you would have a long wait to get your documents back.

Maxie, I recored in Apache County Arizona, but they have tripled their prices, effective July 1 of this year.

@ Moxie, No, I heard California CLOSED all their land recording offices months ago, specifically to thwart the efforts of Patriots!

I couldn’t say for sure, but triple, I would guess they are trying to make it too expensive for nationals to record.

about $109-140 in St Johns County Florida for 6 basic papers with one cover sheet with one certified copy.

For those of you recording papers, remember you need to get CERTIFIED COPIES of ALL documents.

Check with the SIA Coordinator that covers your state. They should be able to check the clients records and at least get you a few options. Then just call or go on line and ask the questions.

@ Mike Turner, you get the certified copies of your documents FROM THE RECORDING OFFICE, WHEN YOU GO THERE, OR SEND THEM THE DOCUMENTS. You Tell them you want at least ONE certified copy of each document.
