How many contaminated sites TCEQ has cleaned since 2003?

03:19:17

03:22:07

03:22:39
To date 89 sites have been completely remediated and closed as active sites.

03:22:59
How much fund they have now that is put aside if you know?

03:23:09
Funds in this program are used only for clean up

03:24:38
Why for next 20 or 30 years?

03:26:18
The TCEQ sunsets in general every 20 years. All of TCEQ is in sunset this year.

03:30:46
There is enough money in the fund currently to last another 4-5 years max. The TCEQ can only use the money that is allocated to them each year from the fund by the legislature. The average $ allocated from the fund each year is just under 4 million. At that rate the average number of sites that get cleaned up is 12 per year. There are a LOT of sites that still need to be cleaned up on the current list as well as all of those that have not even been identified. 20 years is conservative
