We set up our academic plans differently, prog requirements, electives, etc. We use enrolled seq to help tell the student which year/term we suggest the class be taken in

Like 'General Ed' Requirement or "Humanities" Requirement

MCNY has 8 "purposes" which align with the 8 terms in a 4-year degree.

yes you can set it up to be counted in more than one place. We do not do so at our institution.

Once the matric info is on a record it rolls forward. They just had them unchecked.

You only have to do it the first year they matric. It will roll up every following year.

what about substitutions for a particular program? is there a way to make the change for a particular student, or do you have to create an entirely new academic plan for someone taking a different course?

I'm curious about wildcards, especially for something like electives, when anything within a group of course codes fulfills a particular requirement. Can you use a wildcard, or do you have to list every possible course?

Will the program recognize a duplicate course in the same term and include credits?

if an academic plan is changed and the change isn't grandfathered in - as in, course X is removed from all student plans effective immediately and replaced by course Z. can that be globally applied to all existing plans?

Can you set rules based on the Section Level Gen Ed field to help the courses count for one section or another of the Academic Plan, or does that still need to be statically configured on the plan?

@abby, I don't think so. We've had that scenario before and IT (i.e. me) had to use SQL to do it.

The Registrar's office manages all functions of the academic plan

not transcript - I mean the academic plan is where it counts the credits twice.

You can manually customize it that way, but I don't know a way to make it automatic.

It's going to be for everyone in an Associates degree. So it will be a lot of students. That would be very helpful!

is there a way to show that a student has completed an associates degree compact or is that part of the customization?

@KM080351 - We also have courses that could fulfill requirements in different areas. You would just add the course to each area. When the student completes the course, it counts in the first occurrence of the plan. If that area is full, then it defaults to the next available opening.
