Are the Frederick mount courses designed and exclusive high school students? Or will they be taking classes with come enrolled mount students?

The part time classes at the Frederick campus are all Saint John's students.

Currently the courses taught at Frederick are exclusively high school students from SJCP in a face to face format. However, there may be other Catholic high school students who will zoom into the same courses at the Frederick campus.

Correct. Our students integrate with all the students on the campus. They do have a freshman symposium all together as a group.

Yes.

For part time- you choose one or 2 classes in the fall and 1 or 2 in the spring

And yes- those at full time mount can participate in all SJCP activities.

They will just need to plan their courses around those times.

They will also get all of SJCP resources such as college counseling

In terms of sports, we work with the SJCP students to devise a schedule that will work around their sports/practice schedules. So typically we would help them to create a schedule where all of their courses end by 1:30pm or 2pm.

what about financial aid?

There is no financial aid if you choose full time

Do we have any SJCP students who didn't leave the Mount after completing this program for another school?

This past year I believe all of our first group matriculated to other schools although quite a few applied to the Mount

This year we are still waiting to hear from many of our seniors their final decisions on where they will attend

Yes, many applied to the Mount and were accepted. However, we really work with the students to help them to identify courses as distribution credits for whatever university they plan to attend. While we would love for them to remain at the Mount, we encourage them to share the names of the universities that they plan to apply to and work to guide them to the appropriate course work.

The classes meet M/W or T/Th in the morning

The students take the class at the campus and then come to Saint John's for the rest of their classes

So it's a schedule that mixes college and high school together

And the biggest part of your question- yes in person

The part time program offered at the Frederick campus is face to face and the SJCP students are taught by Mount faculty. In the past, students from other Catholic high schools, St. Maria Goretti, and Bishop Ireton have zoomed into the classes with the SJCP students.

That's interesting - they are taking classes also with students from other catholic schools!

Yes, typically we've had 3 or 4 other students from other Catholic high schools who have Zoomed into the courses from their high schools. The SJCP students are able to see them on a rather large screen in the classroom and they participate as if they are sitting in the room.

On transferring, usually don't schools try to fill their class in Freshman year, so when they go to apply for Sophomore year, aren't they competing for a small number of seats?

I know it varies by school, but Purdue also offered a parking pass and first choice for on-campus housing. (because she was classified as Sophomore)

The full time will give you the most credits to classify as a sophomore

although- if you have AP credits that could combine with other college credits as well

Mount Saint Marys students will be required to get the vaccine? How about SJPS? Or the Mount Frederick campus?

Not all students will be old enough for vaccine.

I don't have answers for that but from what I am reading, those ages may change for the vaccine as more studies come out
