Evaluation of the Efficacy and Safety of Sarilumab in Hospitalized Patients With COVID-19Kevzara (Sarilumab) inhibits the interleukin-6 (IL-6) pathway, and it is thought that IL-6 may play a role in driving the overactive inflammatory response in the lungs of patients who are severely or critically ill with COVID-19.Early uncontrolled data from a Chinese trial of a different IL-6 agent showed rapid reductions in fever for all patients, as well as improvements in oxygenation.

Favipiravir or Avigan, has been used in Japan to treat influenza, and last month, the drug was approved as an experimental treatment for COVID-19 infectionsThe drug, which works by preventing certain viruses from replicating, seemed to shorten the duration of the virus as well as improve lung conditions (as seen in X-rays) in tested patients, though the research has yet to be published in a peer-reviewed science journal

Some nurses report that they are not allowed to use PPE even if they have their own. They were threatened with termination. We have been offered by many groups to make masks for nurses. They are citing the CDC website which as a pattern for the masks and even suggest Bandanas. What are your thoughts?
Kelly Ciccone
01:42:25
Willa- you are right. On a web meeting last night nurses reported that they were reprimanded for using PPE even when they brought their own supplies. I am interested to find ways we can all work together to for a UNIFIED effort to identify ways to get the PPE, supplies, equipment, etc that will be needed for managing this pandemic.

I am concerned that if stronger actions are not taken to protect the front line nurses - they will be exposed and become to ill to take care of others.

Is there anybody who knows if there's any sort of registry or "pool" to sign up for to help with disaster relief? I'm in Louisiana, and we had 500 new cases just since yesterday, so I know the need is there, just not sure how to go about getting involved.

Florida has some updated regulations to address standards such as the frequency of Pharmacy consultant inspections to address the prioritization of urgent care

The politicians have their own agendas, we should write to the top 1% that are trying to do what they can regardless of our divided government non-attempts
