Timing of Investment.. The rate increases to ratepayers are built in already for AMI. Why is this for the last several years and finally tonight is first public on AMI during non-working hours and first AMI meeting we were informed by mailing.

Tech-assessed - Is McKinstry involved in Portland General ELectric who uses Sensus AMI meters? As PGE was not reliable with Oregon NW had 500,000 customers out of power recently during ice storm. Clark PUD same conditions without AMI is more reliable during these times.

Apparently our SCPUD staff did select vendor for AMI meters prior without public involment.

What is it costing for McKinstry to evaluate all these solutions?

What is the expected average increased cost per utility bill per year for the AMI plan? What is the expected average "eventual" savings per consumer? How long is "eventual" before each consumer sees those savings in their actual bill? How soon if approved would the consumers see the increase in their bill?

Is this a wireless ethernet network?

How is billing address and names obtained? That is personal data isn't it?

FCC has formula in which was performed with Sensus AMI meters in Gresham. 35 feet away showed dangers indoors,

There will be no customer savings. These companies are only here to make money. They’re not doing this out of the kindness of there hearts.

Kinda bothers me that there might be a wireless access point connected to a mesh network in such close proximity to my home network!

PUD base rates have increased from $8.45/mo in 2008 to $43/mo in 2021. This is more than a 500% increase in the base rate at the same time that the energy cost has increased from $0.0495 to $0.0859 per kWHr. What is being done with this massive increase in rates? Will it pay for AMI or will the PUC lobby for even higher rates?

Since McKinstry is in Portland, have they performed radiation studies with Sensus in Portland area with FCC formulas?

Why not just replace the mechanical meters that are failing as they fail instead of replacing all meters with AMI when some of the current mechanical meters may work just fine? Don't AMI meters also require calibration even if its not mechanical? How is that upkeep any cheaper than mechanical meter upkeep? We have so few consumers on our PUD- it must be cheaper to replace only as needed

What monthly fees does this company acquire from scpud? Do they get paid every time a meter is “being read”?

FCC formula does have non-ionizing limits for hazardous general transmissions in which public is subject to and may not be able to avoid.

If I opt out. Can I just opt out from ami altogether. Seems like a waste of money to install a new meter that has same function as my current one does.

What issues are we really trying to solve for our community? Is there a fully analysis of what actual benefits would be to SCPUD ratepayers?
