Is it okay if we are a level 3 school that we just add the phonics component this year?
Ginny Stroud
25:52
Within the Literacy Programs, there is an efficacy rating. It also states: Programs not scoring within the Strong Evidence or Moderate Evidence categories by March of 2022 may be removed from the Arkansas Division of Elementary and Secondary Education literacy curriculum approval list. Can you elaborate on if schools purchase now from that list, what if the provider doesn’t score within that range? I am aware that some schools are holding off on purchasing until after March 2022.

yes
Ginny Stroud
48:19
Building level will be based on data from 2019 since we do not have current data. So is district plan based on 2019 data or data from 2021.
Ginny Stroud
48:45
Are the school improvement plans REQUIRED to be school board approved in MAY? Can they be board approved in June or July and posted to the websites by August 1?
Ginny Stroud
49:16
"by the school board" by May 1 confused me. I thought the board could approve it between May 1 and August 1.
Ginny Stroud
49:42
Does the district literacy support plan have to be linked to the building level or district level school improvement plan?
Melissa Matus
50:04
Support plans should include multiples pieces of student data including 2019 Aspire data.
Ginny Stroud
50:46
do all goals have to address intervention or can they address tier one instruction?
Ginny Stroud
50:54
at a secondary level
Melissa Matus
50:55
There should be an ESA tab added to the federal budget and uploaded in Indistar. The ESA funds should be prioritized for the improvement of literacy instruction.
Ginny Stroud
51:10
If one intervention is not on the approved list, however, it has been submitted for review, can we still use it?
Ginny Stroud
51:53
The indistar requirement for level 3 school is Sept 1 correct?
Ginny Stroud
52:40
Is there an anticipated time frame for districts to receive 2020-2021 ACT Summative data back to incorporate data points in the SIP???
Ginny Stroud
53:40
do all goals have to address intervention or can they address tier one instruction? specifically at a secondary level
Ginny Stroud
53:51
Yes, I understand that....
Ginny Stroud
54:45
Will this year’s Aspire scores be used to place schools in need of support?
Ginny Stroud
54:57
yes
Ginny Stroud
55:49
Thanks! I was thinking that since this is a “hold harmless” year, we wouldn’t consider this year’s scores.
Ginny Stroud
57:59
Thank you, Kathy! That is EXACTLY what I was going to ask! :)
Ginny Stroud
58:00
Can you still make changes to your plan after you submit your plan on May 1?
Ginny Stroud
58:15
Thank you.
Ginny Stroud
58:31
We will not receive our ACT Aspire data until July 15, so it would be very difficult to meet the deadlines as specified if based on 20-21 assessment results. What will districts do that currently are not in 40% or more, but data from 21 assessment shows more than 40%?
Ginny Stroud
58:44
Yes you can make changes after May 1 as needed.
Ginny Stroud
59:43
Thank you!
