In terms of services and supports, we have to look for it in our community (Thurston County/Pierce County). However, once we've found services (DDA) and supports (South Sound Parent to Parent, Exceptional Families, Seeds of Growth) we've received such wonderful opportunities to meet other families and create community. What is missing is learning from other families about transitional issues (guardianship etc.). Barriers are just not knowing what to do and how to do it in helping our son and other youth transitioning to adulthood. Missy San Nicolas
