@debra, you don't need multiple sets of documents if you have been married multiple times. Your married names are assumed names and are all listed on the Certificate of Assumed Name.

Whatever you do when searching family records, if you go to ancestry.com, that is run by the Rothschilds, so DO NOT GIVE THEM A DNA SAMPLE NO MATTER WHAT!

@Debra, sorry, I don't understand what you're saying. Do all of what? There are six basic documents to be filled out and recorded.

amethyst, I’m just referring to the Oath of Expatriation. I think it was 2 or 3 calls ago when they clarified, for women who were married they would need 2 sets of the 3 Oaths. One set for the given name and one set for the married name. I have a few women who have been married more than once, so it seems to me they should do a set of Oaths for each subsequent name.

I think it is mainly a matter of personal preference. Doing more documents means more expense at the recording office.

In the neginning we all did the birth certificate names for our Expatriation as all married names should be in the Assumed name. Recently Anna said we can do also our married names as well.

Anna told me sometime ago that the Birth Name claims ALL your other names that you have used in your lifetime, including married names for women.

I use my birth name so I do not feel the need to do my married name that I am not using.

You own ALL your names under the birth name. NO other name can claim authority for all your names.

It will not hurt anything to Expatriate any and all married names as long as they for sure do Expatriate their birth name.
