For Nick, I was wondering about, when you change the cleft width, the changes in ephaptic effects versus the
changes in ionic concentration differences, e.g. local [K]?
I know that some of Seth's earlier work addressed this, but I'm not sure if the new results modify the conclusions
Thanks for the question. We only tracked variable Na changes, which obviously is affected by intermembrane distance
I think the main changes are due to voltage changes, but ion changes will definitely modulate CV as well
We haven't changed extracellular ion concentrations for now, but it's definitely somethin to look forward to, especially with heterogeneous ion channels at the disk
