Candice

9th Battle Creek- I have sent out a needs assessment for my students as well as weekly newletters but very little engagement I got less than 10% responses to the needs assessement. Admin did a phone survey and only 51% of people who participated in the survey reported having internet access or devices at home. My staff has a lot of goog ideas to go virtual but the need is still there.

putting together a virtual career day, email/google hangouts for students, everfi lessons, adding lessons to Google Classroom, checking in on students, partnering with local CMH to provide parent support groups,
Leigha
45:54
We used a google form to survey students for internet access & Then our teachers have been logging all contact with students by grades. Those students who were not flagged with contact, the counseling dept has been contacting to learn more. Our tech director has extended wifi into the entire school parking lot.
iPhone

my staff is amazing and has helped me call every single high school student to check in. we called each family to ask about tech access, encourage them to keep working on online work, do a quick wellness check in and encourage students to reach out to me if they need help.

susan.danuloff

Rob, that is true with *67, so when no one answers I leave a message saying that I will call back on a certain day at a certain time. So far that has worked for me.
Rob Grams

I’m getting phones that will not even accept the call without ID - I have to unblock to even get voicemail

If you have a set up google number it will call your phone if someone uses that number to contact you but will tell you that it is your google voice number calling and not your phone number so you know where to draw your personal boundries.

01:19:27
some of our local therapists in Kalamazoo/Portage are using the Therapy App and one reached out to me: Therapy App is HIPAA and FERPA compliant. It is a multi-platform system, meaning clients can access their therapist/counselor through a Chrome browser on a computer or laptop, and through the mobile app offered through the App Store and Google Play. The person who created this is connecting with me next week to see how school counselors might be able to use this for free during the school closure.
