Hi Everyone from Magic Trails,LLC.

Ken, this was my response from my banker last night. Do you think that we made it in the cut? update on your loan, it was cleared by underwriting and waiting for SBA number. Sounds like the teams are still working sending files. SBA is still issuing us numbers. As soon as ETran number with SBA is issued that email is generated so I’m hoping you will have that very soon.
Mary Kay McGuinness
21:18
My EIDL was submitted Apr 2nd and received an approval notice from SBA. Have not heard anything since, including info on the requested $10,000 advance. Anybody else?
ejones
21:25
If filed and email from bank that it was 'accepted', does that allow it to be funded, or it won't get funded? THat is where I am at now.

On March 29, 2020, following the passage of the CARES Act, the SBA provided small business owners and non-profits impacted by COVID-19 with the opportunity to obtain up to a $10,000 Advance on their Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL). The Advance is available as part of the full EIDL application and will be transferred into the account you provide shortly after your application is submitted. To ensure that the greatest number of applicants can receive assistance during this challenging time, the amount of your Advance will be determined by the number of your pre-disaster (i.e., as of January 31, 2020) employees. The Advance will provide $1,000 per employee up to a maximum of $10,000.You may be eligible for another loan program, the Paycheck Protection Program, which is available through participating lenders. Below is a comparison of the two loan programs:

We believe there is still hope here. Yesterday at 7:30pm we received a phone call followed by an email saying that our PPP was approved. That's in the following 10 days the underwriting process had to be completed and then funding will proceed. They clearly stated that once approved by SBA the funds were allocated and will not have to worry if I see the funding has ran out.

The frustration that we are having is that the they do not count fuel as utility that is needed to keep the business. When we asked the question if we can use some of the 25% towards fuel cost we were told that is not considered a necessary cost
warren
39:46
They will only allow you to apply for 2 1/5 times your average monthly payroll. How do you get the extra?
kerriesink
40:37
that’s the problem warren, if your payroll isnt large enough, you really do receive enough extra fro other usage of money
davida
40:41
Lenders already providing 90 day deferrals with likely an addiitonal 90 days coming (180 total). Paying people and keeping your employees with you in PPP is more valuable than bus payments. 50/50 just results in employees being in worse shape and paying more interest on debt that will already likely be deferred is unnecessary.
kerriesink

The frustration that we are having is that the they do not count fuel as utility that is needed to keep the business. When we asked the question if we can use some of the 25% towards fuel cost we were told that is not considered a necessary cost how do we educate and express the fact that fuel should be allowed to be covered within this 25%

but what about limousine and party bus operators
Perkiomen
41:37
agree with Davida, don't see the 50/50 helping

Our insurance company and finance company agreed to give us a break for three months. The problem will be what will happen after these three months. As a charter bus company, we don't expect our business will pick up after three months.

Question for lenders and SBA members in the group - How are lenders and the SBA underwriting regular 7a loans at this time? To be clear, I’m asking about traditional SBA 7a loans not the EIDL program. Is approval based on the applicant’s past financial strength including year-end 12/31/19 figures or are they basing their decision on the applicant’s current financial condition? Obviously, if they’re using the borrower’s current financial condition, very few if any will qualify.

44:47
As a charter bus company, our majority payroll cost is to pay our bus drivers when they are working. Given there is no work for them now, I don't know how to keep them on payroll for the same scale as before. While the forgiveness sound so great, I just don't know how helpful it will be for us.
Ron AA Transportation
44:59
is forgiveness lost if your employees go back on unemployment after the 8 weeks ? and is it ok to spend the 75% of the loan on payroll over 4 weeks or does it have to be equally spread over 8 weeks?

Luke Busskohl
45:41
It’s my understanding that you don’t have to start paying back the PPP loan (for what is not forgiven) for 6 months. Would you see if there is a provision for the charter bus industry to not start paying on the note for a year?

46:12
I agree Becky, but I can’t even get a Chase banker on the line to find out the status of my ppp loan??
Tom McCaughey
46:14
I cannot see any value in the PPP for our industry. What we need is direct financial help from Congress. The 2.5 times payroll number is much too small. Additionally, our drivers are now receiving nearly 1200 per week from unemployment. I cannot " bring them back" and cut their pay
Courtney
46:18
PPP doesn't include equipment payments
Joel

dennis
48:37
How long will we be able to survive with $0 to 50% or less of normal revenueThe PPP program will not work for us.EXAMPLE: I have employee that make $16 – $18 per hour that clean buses. $640 - $720 per week.Currently same employee is getting $950 per week on unemployment. Not much to entice this employee or many similar employees to get up every day at the crack of sunlight and come into work. It is good that our employees get the UE but not good for business to stay solventWe need the government to open the commerce soon and SAFELY.• Keep social distancing• Wear face covering respirator or something to minimize exposure• Allow private business to assist governmental transit companies so they don’t have to hand out monies to us.• Establish some group gathering (i.e. venues, airline, train, bus guidelines soon)Lets get controls in place to allow people to work and do it SAFELY

I was under the impression that PPP, cannot be utilized for equipment interest payments. Only for property/facility mortgages?
Rob Wicklund
49:42
Tom M. is correct, I have such an issue with pulling our people off UI. I agree that there is some level of "free money", but why not let our people enjoy the "benefit" of UI at this time. We simply need cash to use at our discretion.
Jared
49:53
The value of the PPP is the availablity of money without much effort but I do think our industry should get a longer defferal period

Reduction of principle on bus payments is considered income which is a taxable item and they will never give a handout to recover taxable profits. Goal is to stay alive until business comes back. PPP does that.

THe drivers do not want to come back on the PPP, they are receiving $2,000 a month more than we pay them on unemployment. We need PPP for operational costs to keep from losing our coaches
Anna
59:50
Thanks for all of the hard work you are doing. I know it must be frustrating. We on the West Coast are patiently waiting for help....so if you are successful in getting more sba funding, that would be great!
Sharon
59:51
Agreed! PPP is not suitable for our industry

If drivers don't want to comeback because of unemployment, call UI and tell them you offer them a job and they declined it. UI will automatically cancel their unemployment check.

No one talking about the devaluation of buses, which is my guess...…...at least 25%, probably closer to 50% less or even more on some fleets due to an anticipated GLUT on the market. THAT is scary in my eyes.
Lillie Harris

PPP is a must to take advantage of. Don’t expect it within 3 weeks though. You can apply for both programs EIDL and PPP. Also the Express Bridge Loan up to 25k, which is not talked about much, nor provided much info

Lenders are almost at 180 day deferrals. Keeping buses is not the immediate need. Keeping employees who are hurting is.
