We can see you screen, and hear you
I have been able to put together many resource in Seattle/King but am lacking a comprehensive list for Pierce. Where can I find something here...such as list of food banks....
I understand we are working diligently in finding spaces for personnel infected. As of today, what do we do if we have a positive case in shelter
I don't have means to isolate people in my shelter
Do we expect COVID-19 cases to go up today? Do we know of any reported cases in the homeless community?
Who should I contact for needed supplies - like hand sanitizer or masks?
Once we have a positive case, what is going to happen with the ones exposed to that case?
are there any conversations about de-intensifying size of large shelters as Seattle is doing...
Homeless Shelters funded through the County CAN USE their funds to put people in hotel/motel to isolate folks with a case. If you need an amendment, get in touch with the County
How do we navigate getting our clients tested who have symptoms-I know getting tested is a challenge right now for people
I am losing my volunteers which make up a lot of our workforce. We may need to close at a certain volunteer level. We need alternate locatioins for our homeless
How many people have been tested in Pierce already? I’ve heard that some who want to be tested are unable to be seen.
We are currently moving vulnerable clients from seattle shelters to motels and hotels - any plans for resources to do that here?
We are hearing of shelters that are full. With inclement weather as well, are we talking of more motel voucher programs?
If we do have a case do we contact you to assist with isolation? Also if a case is positive will health care professionals notify our agency so we are aware?
Will someone - i.e. United Way or maybe PC Human Services do the same single ordering that King county is doing for shelters? On line Google form to order and shelter picks up.
Can that be asymptomatic but vulnerable clients moving to shelter?

What about McNeil Island, utilizing the facilities there as a shelter site
CHC = Community Health Care?
are you proposing "screening space" for entry to shelters, food banks, etc? checking temperatures, asking about symptoms. same with staff/volunteers - are you suggesting screening?
King County is pushing out the info and updates automatically via a special email address to the homeless provider list - I find that a good resource - don't have to wander through a website for updates. Seems like multiple ways of informing providers is a good idea..get to the info as easily and as quickly as possible...same info at same time on multiple platforms
will today's presentations be on the Coalition website?
We have so many folks utilizing day labor to stay afloat. Many businesses are stopping the use of temp labor. How will we increase shelter space for those who cannot continue to pay for motels?
How long do we expect this crisis to last/is there a timeline for how long we should expect to socially isolate?
We should know very soon how the State COVID19 money is coming...see the list on the letter from the Washington Low Income Housing Alliance to the gov...it's in your in-box from me last night
Yes, Valeri answered the motel/hotel question - thanks Valeri.
What is going to be the impact to the FACILITY if we get a positive case. Is the FACILITY going to have to be disinfected?
re Kelly's question - Emily are "you" working with the motels where folks are staying long term for special rate, etc? Gov. Newsome, CA says he has authority to simply take over hotels, etc. Are you talking about this?
chiming off of what Luis said will City and County assist in the cost to disinfect our shelters if needed to keep staff and clients safe. I was on a call yesterday that there is a cleaning company that hospitals use that can disinfect larger facilities the cost is about 5k, but was told the disinfectant they use can last a month.

Can healthcare workers, providers, law enforcement, shelter operators/volunteers, Department of Corrections personnel have immediate access to COVID-19 testing (priority)?
Russell Alfaro C.Ht.
Also 911 and emergency services personnel
Use 17 and 18 year old students to work in your shelters - they have little impact from getting the virus, and they don't have anything to do. Sort of kidding, but sort of not kidding...
is your working group promoting a no eviction/no shut-off policy to keep people in housing - day labor, hourly wage workers, independent contractors. - Seattle City Light already instituted a no shut off.
RESOURCE IDEA: Associated Ministries contracted directly with Honey Bucket to have a hand-washing station delivered today outside the front door of our office. Cost is very reasonable at $170/month which includes weekly servicing
What about no sweeps combined with an identified place for people to set up, also safe vehicle parking
Has Tacoma Public Utilities talked about following Seattle in not shutting off utilities during this time. So many parents do not have options for childcare...and have to stay home. No way to pay utility bills.
Valeri, RE: buying motels, can your Department reach out to King County and see what they are doing? I heard something in Tuesday's video that King County is buying motels to isolate
Question for Valeri - Many low-wage service workers are at risk of getting laid off. Can we use any of our County contracts for homeless prevention?
can you order multiple Hand Washing stations to get a better rate? can health dept or pc take this on?
Coordinating community volunteer support is time consuming - and most providers are slammed with lots of extra work (cleaning, handling symptomatic clients) with a shrinking staff (staff out ill, child care issues). This is an opportunity for reallocated government staff to do this type of coordination and offer resources. hint hint.
you are smart - figure out a way to increase efficiencies in supplies, etc. and still meet legal requirements...wholesale amendment? special appropriation. go to the private funders for allocation
Are any of the shelters setting up temporary tent camps close to sheltersd for services? If so, who is doing that?
One of the news stations reported that the Rental Housing Assoc. of WA was supporting no evictions...is this true?
I could hear you Melissa
Oops, that was me screwing that up, Melissa - you're next.
People here are happy to be asked as it shows we are caring for them
Luis - when will Women's Shelter open?
Ms Melissa and ccs leadership has really helped staff understand, and to reduce fear to keep our mind on our mission.
Will the Stability Site reductions continue?
Can you speak to the Family Day Center?
can you post a link o that document on the screen?
Any way to acquire more or repurpose tiny houses @ MLK for isolation purposes?
Stability Site reductions?
Is it possible to have medical providers directly in the shelters?
Is there a waiting list to do the coordinated entry interview, or is everyone getting same day service
make sure you send to the document to the correct Melissa that was not my question :)
TRM is doing on-demand CE conversations at the 425 South Tacoma Way Campus
City of Tacoma staff are on the line to answer any questions you might have for us :)
Nativity House is doing on-demand M-F 8-5 operating as normal
AS far as medical at day shelters, have we contacted Dispatch Health? Their motto is they are bringing back the house call...on demand healthcare. Fire department gave me their info...
Valeri - can you easily amend the State contract to add prevention and pick up the folks Kelly was talking about - assuming the new State money?
Gerri - nicely done!
Employment Security has a really good chart showing the COVID19 new eligibility...where should things like these be posted?
Erica - can you talk about the City's Emergency Management response?
Does the city of tacoma have a link to the health department response related to homelessness on the homeless page?
Welcome back Erica!
I thought the tiny houses needed to be moved in April - seemed like a good time to transition residents to the new shelters if needed
