When you say design complete - that means Construction won’t start until 2025, or does “Design complete mean project complete?
Katherine Waynick
20:30
Can you give a quick overview of what changed in the project scope by combining the top two capacity projects?
Daniel Medina
21:30
Yes, these are major projects and the design phase takes some time. 2025 is the estimated time when construction will begin
Vinay Oberoi
21:58
We wanted to ask why Ashby St vanished from list of spot projects in last couple of city meetings slides. Is it because you have determined that Ashby St is better served by a Big project?
Vinay Oberoi
23:42
When do we expect to break ground for project #1 and #2
Katherine Waynick
23:49
thank you
Roel Brusselmans
23:52
In regards to managing impact and evaluation of community impact, where is cessation of additional removal of green space like Potomac yard condos and parking lots?
Roel Brusselmans
25:30
Understand not specific to our community and neighborhood but wanted to ask. Thank you.
Betsy Whalen
29:41
How much more capacity should they capture?
Betsy Whalen
29:46
Is there an estimate?
Betsy Whalen
30:36
Ok well the manhole outside my house was four feet in the air —
Betsy Whalen
30:46
At the end of manning and commowealth :(
Valerie Donohue
31:04
So won’t help our basement flooding
Valerie Donohue
32:01
Giant underground barrels!
Megan and Jon Langley
32:51
The Commonwealth interceptor runs behind our house and is usually over capacity. I believe the interceptor in the alleyway is a 54inch concrete pipe
Betsy Whalen
35:55
If we know that inlets upgrades won’t help in areas where manhole covers pop off, it seems odd that part of the plan is to increase the inlets outside my house right in front of the manhole cover that regularly pops off. :(
Valerie Donohue
39:08
The issue is we don’t flood during the smaller storms. It’s the 10 year + that are a problem
Avantika’s iPad
42:23
Which are now every 10 months
Jesse Maines
45:03
Good point Katie. Would be good to know which manhole it is if Betsy could let us know.
Betsy Whalen
47:47
The Rio Manning!
Megan and Jon Langley
49:45
A green alley at the end of the street sounds lovely, but what about all of the homes that are further upstream from the "green alley"? Also, we already have a back flow preventer and have still gotten storm flooding and sewer flooding
Betsy Whalen
50:03
So 2025-2026 at the earliest for the alley
Betsy Whalen
51:53
I have the video of it which I’m happy to share
Jessica Lassetter
52:15
We will share these slides and Zoom recording so you have them after the meeting.
Roel Brusselmans
58:09
Engineer: it’s true.
Vinay Oberoi
59:47
Thanks Jessica. I was going to ask you about the slides. Appreciate it.
Valerie Donohue
01:01:07
Our the flooding usually starts after the rain stops - and rain sits in the basement for an hour or so and suddenly drains - so it seems like a valve is turned off and on
Katherine Waynick
01:04:23
One final question could you speak to Congressman Don Beyer's funding request - it's specific location (alleyway between Clifford and Hume?), what the project is and where the project stands when the funding request was denied?
Jesse Maines
01:06:38
Hey Katie. Unfortunately, we did not get the federal funding through Beyer's office. It was generally for this area. We will continue to pursue work in this area.
Betsy Whalen
01:06:41
Ours is coming up from the drains
Betsy Whalen
01:07:49
I appreciate the time you’ve all spent and your intent to share as much as you can. I remain super anxious about continuing to live in my house with substantial fixes being realistically four years away. :( But thank you all for the input and information -

Can we file more than one claim in the pilot program? If the original claim doesn't meet the $5,000 cap

That also can become a problem with the mortgage company
Avantika’s iPad
01:18:17
It is a huge financial risk for homeowners.
Betsy Whalen
01:18:43
Unfortunately a 4 year timeline is too long.
Erik Olson
01:18:50
We had the same problem after our second flood claim. I sent the insurance company a picture of our new flood wall and they still would not do business with us
Betsy Whalen
01:19:28
Standard homeowners insurance
Betsy Whalen
01:20:58
My insurance covered my claim and agreed it was part of my policy— and then after the fact cancelled me with no warning.
Betsy Whalen

I have to jump. Thanks everyone
