Q: Are we able to both extern and participate in a clinic during the same semester?
Dakota Rudesill
54:33
about the Legislation Clinic -- Profs. Enns and Huefner are teaching it in the fall, and Enns and I are teaching it in the spring next year.
Sarah Anstirman
55:24
Q: Approximately how many hours of work per week should we be allotting to a clinic?
Olushola Olushola
55:31
what’s the position of a student who will be 2nd semester 2L by spring of 2020. Is it possible I take any of the offerings for 2L still
Jessica Akerman
56:21
Does enrolling in a Clinic during 2L affect our chances of getting into a 3L Clinic?
Jessica Akerman
57:06
Also, for someone who is fairly certain that they want to go into criminal law, would enrolling in both Prosecution and Defense Clinics “raise eyebrows” when applying for jobs?
Kimberly Jordan
57:13
to Jessica -no, they are unrelated. you are able to take multiple clinics during your time at moritz, just not at the same time
Jessica Akerman
57:27
Thank you Professor Jordan!
Olwyn Conway
59:57
Also to Jessica, several students opt for both criminal clinics each year. I'm happy to talk more about the decision, but in general--particularly if you plan to practice in Ohio--the answer is no. Employers often see the diversity of experience as a plus. We always have defense-minded students in the prosecution clinic and prosecution-minded students in the defense clinic, as well as folks who haven't decided yet. If you're looking at other jurisdictions for practice, the answer may be slightly different. I'm happy to talk more about the decision via email!

01:02:11
If you are thinking about doing the dispute resolution certificate, we encourage you to take the mediation clinic as a 2L because it is a building block course for the certificate.
Kimberly Jordan
01:03:53

Jaclyn Serpico
01:08:11
the audio was cutting out a bit on my end—did you say that if you have political work on your resume that is a problem with getting placed in a legislator’s office?
Terri Enns
01:08:46
What he was saying is that if you have political work on your resume, we will not place you in the office of the other party. Political work is fine.
Steven Huefner
01:08:49
No. Only that we will take past political work into account in making a placement you'd like.
Jaclyn Serpico
01:08:58
Ah ok great that makes sense thank you!
