in the past year, I feel held and supported by coaches from a program based in understanding phases of life and change from an afro-indigeneous perspective.... and I have been helping to be there for a friend who is long term survivor of HIV who just got out of 13 yrs in prison with very challenging parole requirements.

what I see coming ahead is creating opportunities for people to connect in person, without digital devices, to win back our attention, set intentions, and find inventions that will move us forward in connection

Great plans and ideas! I hope you’ll include some focused outreach to engage people outside of cities and suburbs, who live in more rural locations (especially, but not just in the South) - and often experience particularly high isolation. Continuing to develop the TRP capacity for presenting forums via webinar may be especially meaningful for folks who live in rural areas.

I'm curious as to if The Reunion Project would be able to support local initiatives like creating buddy programs for PLWH that would connect survivors with the more recently diagnosed. Desire has been expressed in the support group I run, but anyone who would be interested in collaborating/sharing resources would be greatly welcome to contact me at johan.baumeister@justushealth.org

Ultimately I'm looking at a collaborative alliance of peer support folks so we can better serve LTS populations and build stronger connections with the broader HIV community.

Glad to hear (read) that, Waheedah - as a resident of a relatively small city (Charleston SC), in a largely rural state, it seems unlikely that there're large enough numbers to bring a TRP session here, so virtual meetings and forums are critical to link w LTS outside the mega cities where there are large numbers concentrated.
