walk early in the morning before work. do yoga after work at night

01:03:22
As a lay leader, trying to balance work, home, and non-profit work and stick to a daily routine which includes exercise to stay sane.

01:03:25
Personally - I have been looking at family photos and creating photo books. Walking! Listening to Rabbi Menachem Creditor each morning on FB UJA Federation of New York’s page - learning Torah and connecting with others.

01:03:58
At JewishColumbus we are working with a self care professional to help our staff and leadership team find some techniques to get us through the week thoughtfully

01:03:58
Taking my dog to the dog park and walking solo to take a breath

01:04:01
Our campaign is on a calendar year so we’re getting ready for the end of the campaign year. Very active right now but will really get going after the holidays.

01:04:07
Make phone calls to others who I know are at home and need company. Be a friend to those who need it. Take classes on line. And be kind in a time when kindness is needed.

01:04:18
have to be honest - houston is bracing for another hurricane - hard to focus here

01:04:21
been doing touch base up till now - now will start the ask

01:04:57
Elyse - sorry to hear about the hurricane. Stay safe!

01:05:45
Our CEO has put out weekly a Fed 5 with highlights of what we are doing on a real-time basis, which helps with the touching base with our donors

01:06:51
It's been important to acknowledge the need our lay partners also have for some "down time." I've had some beautiful conversations with my lay partners on determining priorities - accomplishing our goals - and then allowing us both to rest and refuel.

01:07:05

01:07:39
Way to go, Toronto. Amazing.

01:07:40
WOW!! Outstanding!!

01:08:57
Amazing. What % of your community does your database reach?

01:09:09
WoW, we would love to get the info on how to contact those who have never given?? We have many new comers to our city and we need to try and work out a way to contact them..

01:09:43
I love the idea of NOT doing an emergency campaign and including the pandemic needs within the Annual Campaign.

01:10:00
Toronto, great community efforts

01:11:09
We are happy to share our proposal with all of you - we have built a list of 600+ donors who have never given to campaign but have capacity to give between $5,000 and $10,000 dollars. We are sending them a personal proposal (branded for them with thei rname) and then we will have a fundraiser (professional or lay) reach out within 48 hours after they receive the proposal.

01:12:54
Donor appreciation calls are win wins. The caller also get bumped and feels good to connect as well as speak about ALL that the federation has accomplished!

01:12:56
Sara, please share! That's amazing.

01:14:38
Love the Peloton shoutout!

01:15:02
Peloton is a life saver!

01:16:17
Sara--so amazing! we would love to see an example of that personal proposal

01:19:51
I am a glass half full kind of person. As Campaign Chair of our community - I found that through ZOOM meetings that we had the opportunity to connect with our lay leaders in a meaningful way. We meet each week. We learned FROM UJA Federation of New York’s top leadership and staff about what our agencies did to pivot and adapt to COVID. I was able to SEE that UJA IS built for this.

01:19:52
We are having an End of Summer virtual phone session with 30 lay leaders and professionals - each lay leader will have a curated list of significant donors and smaller donors- but we are excited to be collectively doing this as a way of building momentum, and generating excitement and offering a nice way for us to stay connected with one another.

01:21:24
I’m looking forward to joining Orna’s phone session - we start together on zoom, make our individual calls and then regather on zoom - makes it feel like we’re all in this together!

01:23:20
for younprogressives can view JFed could be seen as the original revolutionary collective organization in the US while

01:24:21
traditional supporters can still feel good about the legacy institution of Federation. we are both.

01:26:56

01:28:31
How is Danielle marketing to different age groups?

01:28:45
I love the different marketing to different age groups!

01:29:01
how is that possible to do?

01:30:00
Excellent thoughts about marketing to the different groups.. we cannot just target our "old" existing donors.. we must open the "tent" to include all

01:30:08
Susan we’re doing it via email—we have birthdates for most of our donors so we’re segmenting based on this.

01:30:37
gotcha - and you change the message the visuals

01:30:45
Exactly!

01:31:10
Also might be worth considering how you approach people - messaging may or may not be similar - but perhaps test a texting campaign to the younger segment, mail for older demographics, etc.

01:31:42
virtual programming is allowing us to offer magor gifts programs to multigenerations. Adult kids adn parents who may be living together now.

01:35:18
retroactive

01:35:20
Virtual programming - like offering a movie to legacy donors? a virtual cooking program to new donors? as a perk to the donating?

01:36:06
In Los Angeles we are also having “virtual cocktails and conversations” exactly for having an intimate opportunity to talk with a few people, and to engage - no more the 6 to 8 - asking for advice and suggestions - we absolutely need collective wisdom

01:36:51
Shout out to Gen X!
