Months….

43:57
WRT addictions, there is a plethora of online meetings that are available for those in recovery. It is actually EASIER to get to a meeting now! Wendy - 39 years in recovery

44:21
Options don’t quite explain….

44:21
Do you have links you could share Wendy?

45:17
A colleague of mine recently posted concerns regarding parenting time being shared between parents' households. The Michigan Supreme Court is saying that all court orders should be followed, but health & safety should also be a concern, and some situations would require that a parent not deliver the children to their co-parent.

45:43
I am surprised by the 29% who are not in isolation. Why aren't we all doing it voluntarily even if not ordered to do so?

46:14
Local intergroups are posting Zoom links. My usual AA videoconf is INTHEROOMS; there are others but I don't keep a list. They are easily found with a search.

46:35
Extremely upsetting to hear that closer to 100% are not isolating one way or another.

47:42
I answered not in isolation because I'm free to go to my office, but my staff is working remotely from home and our lobby is locked with no clients allowed in. I'm at my office with one other attorney and we stay in our separate offices. It's just easier to work in the office, but my family is staying home with grocery store runs only when needed.

48:07
Jo, could you email your addendum to me? We can add to our resources. atm@collaborativepractice.com

48:14
Some of us have estate planning practices that require us to be available for executions. Our state does not have an electronic signature option right now. Scary.

48:51
no

49:31
Anthony Markus - Similar situaiton for me, I go to small office with one other lawyer. No client's come in.

49:38
My guess is that all states/provinces will have Remote Online Notarization in short order.

49:41
yes

50:10
Options for electronic signatures. We'll add to our resource list as well. Docusign https://go.docusign.com/Adobe https://acrobat.adobe.com/us/en/sign/electronic-signatures.html

51:02
Genius Scan works also.

52:16
Thank you, Nikki! You can also sign pdfs from the native iPhone e-mail app (open up a PDF and click the pencil icon in the top right of the screen)

52:25
Of course

52:30
It is

52:53
I think a good question is how many people have found problems with Zoom and the like as we all use these mediums.

53:54
Thank you, Lori.

54:15
watched Stu video yesterday…thanks for doing that.

55:36
your Zoom is only as good as your internet connection. many are oblivious to the impact of other users in their household and those users on the bandwidth. if Brian's kids are streaming vids or gaming, his connection is going to be throttled. and YES to Lori's comment about creating more space and more patience with everyone these days!!

56:15
Michigan's governor just issued a "Shelter in Place" order to close, effective at Midnight. (Our 3-person office had been continuing, with 2 employees (one aged, one immune-compromised) working remotely.)

57:43
Hi, Stu! We just played part of your video. People really appreciated it.

57:47
Agreed on the bandwidth. Helpful to get a router where it can control bandwidth to different applications.

57:53
FYI if people are teaching anything online - here is a brief article from the PON at Harvard: https://www.pon.harvard.edu/daily/teaching-negotiation-daily/moving-online-pedagogy-in-a-pandemic/

Hi, Stu! We just played part of your video. People really appreciated it.

I’ve got a weekly Happy Hour set up with Collaborative colleagues. We’re thinking we’ll make it more frequent! Daily sounds good!

01:00:00
Physical Distancing. Social Connecting.

01:04:35
Sorry! Juggling comments along with listening!

01:04:37
Thanks for this; I have my two staff asking many questions now, re our forced (at least) 3 week shutdown. Signing off . . .

01:05:01
Good luck, Gary!

01:05:07
We’ve removed all chairs and furniture from our waiting room (psychologist). No waiting there. Pick up and drop off. Also neuropsychologist exams - still some in person for that.

01:06:09
I’m fine and so my loved ones! thank you all!

01:09:34
clean workspace, yes, try not to eat, yes, tie? nuh uh! i totally respect Russ' professional persona - no judgment here - but mine is different. I think you should present as you would normally - and for me, that is to present in a way that is not traditionally what people think of as lawyer-like - I think it helps people change their expectations of me - because what they are getting from me is very much outside the box of traditional legal services.

01:10:14
I am really sorry but I have to go. See you at next meeting

01:11:51
True, I had so many calls about parenting exchanges that Sandi and I did a blog on it in light of our governor’s order

01:17:14
I had an individual meeting as a coach for a new collaborative and it was open and felt like we had more connection and sharing. Have 2 collaborative 6way meetings coming up this week and next.

01:17:19
Stu, you’re just talking to the panelists. If you want to talk to all attendees, you have to change your “to” field.

01:17:39
all on zoom

01:19:40
Over Communicate is the BEST ADVICE now.

01:19:50
Been on Office365 for more than two years now. all files in the cloud (OneDrive).

01:20:13
my assistant works from her home, I work from mine and we are 90 kms apart.

01:21:34
If using OneDrive or Dropbox or Google Drive, you may want to consider extra encryption software. We use Boxcryptor, which we barely notice working in the background

01:21:54
and I meet with clients at one of three locations around town (Ottawa, ON) some "downtown" for those that DON'T freak out about parking fees, and two others with good access to free parking. really flexible, clients love it.

01:23:07
Always send long kindness. Keep your loving presence always. Zoom is a great place to be AT HOME!!

01:23:19
We use PCLaw from Lexis and it works great! Not a cloud service, but well set up for law practices.

01:23:49
Yes, VOIP systems are great.

01:24:25
I've had a VOIP phone system for years. Finally using it to its full potential with staff taking the phones home. It's wonderful.

01:25:14
They have been lowered as have the releases of information

01:25:53
Has anyone heard of Lifesize (competitor to Zoom)

01:26:34
Adam are you aware of any attorney who has had their files or server hacked, in any way, anywhere, at any time? i GET IT that we are in the confidentiality business, but so are all businesses and i just haven't seen any examples of the disaster people fear if, for example, you don't encrypt. I've seen in my 25 years lots of lawyers and firms get up-sold tons of useless crap by their IT folks. not chirping you Adam, at all, and best practices are hard to criticize, i just question whether or not O365 is somehow something wanting. I am sure MS has a whitepaper on it - I will see if I can find it.

01:28:35
We use Lifesize and it works well

01:28:54
Tx!

01:29:11
Does anyone know what level of Zoom package you need to use breakout rooms?

01:29:41
To have breakout rooms on Zoom you need to buy Zoom Rooms

01:29:48
What’s the link to Zoom tutorial?

01:30:26
Chris, great question. Not necessarily law firms, but there have been leaks and hacks of the common document storage sites like Dropbox and OneDrive. As part of due diligence, I want to reassure clients and, if hacked, show that we did what we can to try to safeguard client files (especially at a time where there are more likely to be more hacks and people may attempt to take advantage of current perceived chaos).

01:30:59
Box is more secure and is HIPAA compliant.

01:31:11
Zoom tutorials are available right through their home page.

01:31:34
Thanks Steve!!

01:31:53
If you don't want to buy Zoom Rooms people could always just phone each other.

01:32:18
Hello Jo!

01:32:28
Thank you for this. Sorry to have to leave. Will the recording be posted on the IACP site?

01:32:32
Box is similar to Dropbox. It is a file sharing platform.

01:32:37
Our resource page is here. It includes links to Zoom’s info page and other resources. https://www.collaborativepractice.com/sites/default/files/Helpful%20Work%20From%20Home%20Resources.pdf

01:33:15
The recording will be shared via social media and email.

01:35:10
full disclosure! i DO own some Zoom stock - its the only shares I still hold - but i do love love love the service.

01:35:20
I have a client who works remotely and his company (a large one) uses BlueJeans, not Zoom. He likes it better.

01:35:49
LOL chris A

01:36:22
I had a zoom collaborative meeting last week and one client dominated the entire meeting, so his lawyer is going to need to work with him for the next meeting. comes down to preparation!

01:36:31
I’ve got a Collaborative case we started by ZOOM because the clients are in Colorado - blog coming soon.

01:36:34
Alisa - does your client say what about BlueJeans he likes better?

01:37:45
Christopher - My client thinks it is easier to use and that there are fewer hiccups. He feels things run smoother. I’ve not tried it out yet to compare myself. It could be the operators!

01:38:50
Preparation - yes. I think also the breakout rooms can make a big difference.

01:39:46
Break out rooms work real nice.

01:39:58
Zoom has options to turn off private chat or turn off all chats

01:42:01
Here is a primer from a local lawyer: https://journeylaw.ca/how-do-i-use-zoom/

01:43:59
For prebriefs we have found it helpful to have the Zoom meeting setup so that attendees are not automatically brought in, but instead have to be joined in when the team is ready. This allowed us to chat for a few minutes and then welcome the parties, who are connected but not together with us or their spouse while they wait.

01:44:23
Great idea, Steven!

i just received a text from a friend about a video attached to WhatsApp that will hack your phone. I could type out the entire message just received if people want.

Schitt’s Creek is hilarious!!

01:47:29
Hope the Addendum posted (in various bits) is useful - we are still working on it. Feels a bit bossy to me right now....

01:47:30
We are making dinner at home and eating together!

01:47:50
I haven't had time to verify this but this is what just came to me: "If you know anyone using WhatsApp you might pass this on. An IT colleague has advised that a video comes out tomorrow from WhatsApp called Marinelli. Do not open it, it hacks your phone and nothing will fix it. Spread the word. If you fecieve a message to update the WhatsApp to WhatsApp Gold, do not click..... Do not open a video called "Dance of the Pope". It's a virus that formats your mobile....."

01:47:53
That's great, Jo! Thanks!

01:48:04
Excellent Participation Agreement Addendum - thanks much.

01:48:14
