karen
22:04

tgg
28:24
Aimee I’m pretty sure they are
Freya Purnell
28:31
If you haven’t yet purchased the decodable books, then yes, you would need to buy the physical copies first, and we would then provide you with online access to share with parents. Please note that these online readers, as well as the other Presentation Books/Sounds and Words books, will be available only during the duration of the COVID-19 crisis.
Sandra Hodge-Neill

Freya Purnell
40:16
The books we are making available online, which are the student-facing books, will be ready by early next week. There will not be a cost for these versions if you have already purchased the program.

In WA we use Connect. Does anyone have any experience with using Connect and MacqLit?
Sandra Hodge-Neill
40:37
For my pre recorded lessons I'm going to use screencastify and upload onto seesaw and google if that is considered closed platform. Hangout can be used for google too for live sessions.
lhoepfner
43:30
Are you able to do a mock/sample lesson using a platform such as Zoom for MiniLit and RTP?
Sandra Hodge-Neill
44:26
AC.Tdirectorate are preferring us to use hangout or meet in google classroom over zoon for live sessions .

44:32
From Vicki - I put a pack together with clear instructions covering lessons that we have done to date, mainly focusing on sounds - CVC - sight words etc - sentences. This has been broken into short booklets - 12 revision sessions with the emphasis on repetition until we can do some form of face to face. Is this ok ?

Vicky, if you’re will to share and you’re a member of the InitiaLit Community Facebook group, that might be a relatively painless way of distributing, rather than sending out dozens of emails.

52:19
Good idea John! Poor Vicky is getting inundated!
Tania Stevens

For Minilit - I have made a slide show of letters/sounds and flashcards. I have made a screencastify of me presenting these elements. I plan to upload to Seesaw to my students, a couple per wek. I am only working on revision at this stage. I have also made activities in Seesaw that will back up the slide shows.

Sally
53:18
If we are alternating one day online (teacher presenting) and one day offline (parent consolidating), then we're not going to hit four sessions a week with a teacher. Are you ok with that?
Tina
53:20
Thanks MulitLIt group for all your correspondence and support during this unusual time. .Perhaps best if Vicky sends a copy to Multilit themselves and they can distribute to us all.

How do we mange to do Fluency effectively in MultiLit while having to show them and move the manual for them in front of camera? I did a lesson today and it was quite challenging showing Word Attack book. Not a true reflection of child's ability. Having a copy of the manual at home would be helpful.

Word Attack Extension Skills, thoughts re using this on line
Marianne Roberts
01:02:49
Child Protection says that 1:1 live streaming a parent must be present in the room. We[ our school] are not permitted to record a session then send. We are starting live streaming next week and have been told that 2 students per group is more manageable. Parents are very stressed with the online learning so keeping it simple is essential. Can you provide InitiaLit readers L10-16 also please as a page turner text?
Rosie Stokeld
01:03:36
Thank you! I missed the first part of the last session so logged on to this one to catch up & ended up staying all the way through!
Sandra Hodge-Neill
01:05:54
Remember that parents are learning on line tools and how to manage working from home and their kids learning. Safety and well being, health and then learning are the priorities. Keeping it simple and moving slowly is doable.
Tania Stevens
01:07:03
Well said Sandra. That is my concern too. We need to look after our kids, their parents and ourselves in these crazy times. We want them to hang on to what we have already taught them.
