Depending upon the state you can get tech facilitated abuse to be written into otp
Christina Jankowski
50:35
what is otp?
Francesca Rossi
51:18
You typically have to ask for tech abuse to be in the order of protection and it doesn’t mean the judge will add it. as survivors we have to advocate for ourselves and we can get OTP for digital violence but it is difficult and requires the survivor / lawyer to dictate what needs to be in the OTP

Should you tell your stalker in writing at least once to stop contacting you if you want to get a restraining order? Or not respond at all?
Caitlin Lanier

we get judges all the time that shame victims for responding and engaging in conversation, even if it is just occasionally... so frustrating

I think we need to do a better job explaining the dynamics in stalking cases. Much like we can explain why victims of domestic violence maintain contact so do victims of stalking. We have the ability to do that, we do so in DV cases all the time. We need to apply that to stalking as well

Great to see everyone so engaged in the conversation. Be sure to leave your questions in the Q&A section so we don't miss your them!
