Thanks for seeking clarity on the SBA loan programs. If possible, could you please help demystify how 501C-6’s fit in with the “nonprofit” eligibility. Many markets and state associations are c-6’s and it is pretty unclear which of the EIDL/SBAL loans/grants we are eligible for. :)

Hi Cari-What state are you in? At the federal level you can refer to homeland security that food and ag is essential.https://www.cbia.com/resources/coronavirus/coronavirus-state-federal-updates/department-homeland-security-essential-industries/

29:53
Rebecca-Nonprofits are eligible for SBA loans and grants which will include forgiveness for payroll and some other expenses. We will be putting out a guide on that shortly

31:29
Better to put signage vertical so it can be seen from 6 feet.

32:14
Kelly, it is my understanding that all types of nonprofits are eligible for SBA loans, but I will seem clarification

33:33
Ben - the form lists 501c3 and 501c19; I think then 501c6 will be in the "other" box?

34:28
Why will it be harder to maintain 6' social distancing once produce come in? More customers then?

35:55
Lorrie, Massachusetts is not, unfortunately: https://www.fns.usda.gov/snap/online-purchasing-pilot I'd encourage you to speak to your state snap agency about participating.

37:29
Alice, you should certainly encourage your state snap agencies to apply. The online pilot was not scheduled to expand but there's flexibilities being offered.

39:45
Cari, here in Ohio the Ohio FM Managers and others worked to help the Governor not forget farmers markets. He designated Ag. as essential in Ohio. Did not specifically mention farmers markets.

40:04
would like more detail on how calendly was implemented.

40:58
Carol-That's a great question and not always clear from place to place. Our guidance would be to be proactive about developing a plan and sharing it to your local agency and elected officials.

41:36
Linda B, we have year round markets, lots of produce this time of year, and we were able to maintain distancing last weekend, does take a lot of monitoring.

43:00
I'm sorry. I was mistaken. Only 501c3s are eligible for SBA

43:58
what did she mean by protective clothign?

44:00
*clothing

44:10
We will continue to advocate for your needs, to include other types of non-profits

44:20
Rosa H: masks and gloves

44:43
thank you!

45:30
how handle a centralized Snap token system in a pre-order/pickup market layout?

46:28
hi rosa!

47:20
Leigh, any questions or plan for people who don’t have cars?

48:26
what about vendors that don't have an active website or online ordering system?

49:39
shoppers made multiple stops, one at each vendor they bought from? (In birmingham)

50:50
Margi-We are working on a guide for farmers market operators. Right now I can only point you to the SBA page: https://www.sba.gov/funding-programs/loans/coronavirus-relief-options

51:43
In Birmingham, yes shoppers stop at multiple farms trucks, depending on from whom they ordered

52:37
NO one is charging extra, but perhaps providing $22 worth of produce for a $25 box

52:56
the Columbia FM protocols are on our best practices post on FMC site

54:13
In Birmingham, for customers who don’t have cars, we did allow one bicycle pickup. Walkers are encouraged to come back in a car. :-(

57:15
FYI Birmingham market is 7am-Noon and we have stayed with that time frame to accommodate customer habits. We might encourage folks to pick up by 11am. 11am-Noon pickup is very slow.

57:44
are these slides and videos going to be shared later? Loving some of the signage

59:44
For those markets that use pre-order system: what app/platform you use for that? I'd like to offer that and would like to know what soft/website is being used for that?

59:52
Shane, We will definitely share a recording of the webinar.

01:04:30
Lezli, our staff wear gloves when swiping cards. Due to the SNAP guidelines, we have to still have them enter their pin, so we give them our device to do so. Then we wipe down all of our devices after the transaction.

01:05:43
For markets using the drive-thru and/or pre-order model, how are SNAP transactions handled?

01:07:19
"Was that $450 per day to rent that handwash station?" - No, we purchased the hand wash station for that amount, it has been durable and flexible and was a great purchase for us! SHIP grant covered the cost.

01:08:52
"could you please restate the number of orders to number of tables you stated?" We (Rochester) had about 8 orders per table, 17 tables for 120 orders (not including fridge/freezer items).

01:09:20
What are people's opinions on gloves? Our market in Alexandria VA is split. Some feel that they are safe, others feel they don't make things safer unless they prevent you from touching your face

01:09:25
Jess: Complicated to handle grey water from hand wash stations? That’s what has stumped us.

01:09:49
Jeff: I think hand washing is safer than gloves, but gloves do provide a comforting visual for shoppers.

01:09:54
"Complicated to handle grey water from hand wash stations?"

01:11:18
David, can you explain how you are doing the token sanitization?

01:12:35
"Can you explain how your drive up pre-orders were put together for multi vendor purchases?" We used a labeling system that corresponded to customer order number. Suppliers used labels that allow their orders to be packed together by volunteers.

01:21:12
Winter seems like a great time for online sales but I'm concerned about the intense harvest season when our produce growers will not have capacity to update inventory and process preorders. Will benefit meat vendors and those with limited inventory but not produce vendors? Can't find my rose-colored glasses on this.

01:21:14
I would suggest checking out the Wallace Center Food Hub collaboration - they have a ton of resources on online markets...
