I recently discovered the LGBT Mummies Tribe and I already feel so much less worried about my fiancée and I make plans about having children, it’s a space where I see people like me and people that will understand and be able to help with challenges and celebrate the wins

Such a breathe of fresh air to here a group of people who understand the importance of teaching children about LGBTQ+ people, as people not about sex. So much of the media focuses on sex which is just infuriating. Bravo all

so sorry to hear that Laura-Rose. On second day our daughter was born, two nurses outside the ward loudly said they didn't think gay people should have children. purposely so I could hear.

Laura-Rose I am so sorry that happened to you, society needs educating, the exact reason this should be taught in schools! I have so much hope for the future generation

I have has something similar but with my straight parents, they sometimes got called my guardians or not my real parents as I am adopted and its horrid. I can't imagine how people can be so horrid

As a transman, the support from the community is immense, thank you to everyone standing up for us as society attacks

My mother is a Jehovahs Witness, which are encouraging homophobia in parents across the whole board. Yet, when I came out my mother she was fully accepting; but she still tried not to discuss myself, or my husband with there fellow witnesses. But outside of the religion, she is an adamant supporter. Just goes to show that the religion does not make the person. There are parents that will not let religion or the unbuild homophobia stop them loving and accepting their children. A positive story from a demographic full of horror stories.

Absolutely recognise Laura-Rose's experience, the words were love but the reality of being in front of my parents as myself is still not possible. So important that support is more than just words.
