Can the effective date be changed after the bill is filed?

01:22:00

I'm find it hard to hear and understand the female who is speaking. Perhaps could folks be mindful of talking more slowly and not talking over each other?

01:51:43
She'll move closer to the phone. Thank you!

I just want to make sure I understand the process and the difference between a "reading" and a "hearing"-- so there's a 1st reading in a committee, debate, and then a hearing at which point the bill is voted on. If the bill passes the hearing there is a 2nd reading on the Chamber floor, debate, and then a 3rd reading at which point a vote is taken-- Is that the general process?

One last reminder: if you'd like CLE credit, please provide your information here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1lI2l2Bw1MKCfoccv4x5rTNBbd6h9yB5O/edit

And if you have questions, please send them now!

I tried to log on to file a witness slip (I have filed witness slips before so I am registered) and I did log in, but it seemed to say no hearings, therefore no witness slips. Is that right or did I just go to the wrong place?

02:38:06
What are the guidelines for whether a group should register as a lobbyist or not?

02:40:10
If you file a witness slip for a hearing, but the hearing then gets cancelled, what happens to the witness slip? Do you need to re-file a new witness slip once the hearing is re-scheduled?

02:46:06
Thank you! This was helpful.

02:46:07
Thank you for your participation and questions!
