if I have multiple offices but each one under different tax ID
Damon Thompson
01:24:13
So basically anyone can squeeze into that description.
ahmed
01:24:14
do I combine them and add employee
Teresa Williams
01:24:17
We have been advised that if your governor has ordered everyone home, you would qualify.
Jackie Brown
01:25:02
what if we have more than 500 but then fall under 500 after layoffs happen, then can it pertain to us?
LaManna Family
01:26:03
would both spouses be eligible for family leave and paid sick leave, if someone's child stayed home? Or does only one spouse get this?
Damon Thompson
01:28:01
Any employee is going to choose 80 hours PTO vs. coming into work.
dr. wendy lewis
01:30:44
If we pay them the FMLA and they’re out 12 weeks, then business is still slow and we don’t need them, would we be able to furlough them at that time at the end of 12 weeks?
Rachel
01:31:49
did it say somewhere that if they’ve been employed in the last 30 days? I can’t remember where I read that, not sure if its true
dr. wendy lewis
01:32:07
Can they benefit from both the sick leave and the Fmla?
Teresa Williams
01:33:34
If we already pay them sick leave due to local and state mandate (California), could we recoup some of those funds through this act?
Teresa Williams
01:33:54
Our sick leave is separate from PTO(vacation)
Rachel
01:37:32
Please correct me if I’m wrong but I thought I read somewhere that it applies to anyone employed in the last 30 days? Is that not true?
dr. wendy lewis
01:38:41
What’s the negative/downside to just paying them all Fmla if it’s going to be reimbursed? just the cash flow at the front end?
Shauntesa D. Russell
01:39:32
1)Since we are in Healthcare will these rules apply? In the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act it states that the Act does not apply to employers who are health care providers or emergency responders. 2)What risk do we have in laying off employees that are currently out on FMLA even with the reason being due to COVID-19? Thank you in advance!
LaManna Family
01:39:32
What are options to consider with Docs that have employment contracts with a specified base salary....and no force majeure clause in the contract?
chris
01:39:39
this is largely about cash flow ability until the govt can get you your credit. correct ?
Vince
01:40:05
How does the tax credit come in? Does the govt. cut a check from the payroll taxes that have already been paid to the (941)? Or do we accrue those credits over time as payroll continues to get paid?
Teresa Williams
01:44:09
If each practice is it's own EIN for payroll, would that make them all below 50? Would it be more advantageous to make the assertion that collectively they are over 500?
LaManna Family
01:44:17
Is it all or nothing? Or could you layoff everyone, if you choose that, except for your Docs?
chris
01:44:38
so no exemption possibility of between 50-500 employees of abiding by rule puts you of business seems to force a layoff decision, correct?
Charles Moser
01:48:02
Can you give the amounts to pay again? please
LaManna Family
01:53:02
So if we pay everyone two weeks pay...and later find out that dentists and hygienists don't qualify, are we on the hook with no tax credits given? Or is the exclusion an employer choice?
kara
01:54:10
if we lay people off or furlough them, we are no longer responsible for any of the paid time off due to the new FMLA law, correct?
tracyschwartz
01:55:13
I am coming in late, you mentioned an exemption.. did the dept of labor make any exemptions today? for less than 50?
Damon Thompson
01:57:26
What if schools let out for summer BEFORE the 12 weeks expire? Continue? Then it is the “daycare closed” clause?
Jackie Brown
01:57:51
I thought Federal Paid Sick Leave was for all employees regardless of tenure?
Jonathan penchas
01:57:57
Emmet and Brian - THE DENTAL STUDS. Thank you for doing this meeting. I am in debt to you !
Jackie Brown
01:58:54
I thought self isolation didn’t qualify anymore?
Teresa Williams
01:59:41
Is it 2 weeks or 80 hours?
Teresa Williams
01:59:48
What about 4 day per week employees
Rachel
02:00:14
One of my questions is how we log this in our payroll service to show that their pay was because of the family first act. Add a pay type?
Damon Thompson
02:00:32
Please write that out (the CAPS)!
kendalljones
02:01:19
Difference between hourly and salary employees?
Damon Thompson
02:01:28
Associates are not eligible, correct. They need to ride this out.
tracyschwartz
02:01:44
with no revenue coming, what if we are not liquid to pay this
LaManna Family
02:03:48
Could you discuss Associates a bit please...
tracyschwartz
02:03:49
Did an exemption get passed
Jackie Brown
02:04:38
as an employer, you could potentially have to pay for the Federal Paid Sick Leave and also unemployment
Damon Thompson
02:07:41
OK…pull the trigger. What do you recommend? Under 50? 50-500? 500+? We need a solid answer! Knowledge is somewhat helpful…but we need clear direction.
