Local businesses are not currently set up to pivot their business plans- to be able to offer online services/etc. Limiting to business operations.
Abby
36:53
I believe businesses are also having challenges with changing rules, especially breweries/restaurants/distilleries and not knowing how this will affect their business from one day to the next.
Sydney

I am in Summit County and our economy revolves around the ski industry(Breckenridge, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain). All businesses make all of their money that they need to sustain throughout the year in March. March is our busiest time and money making month in our community and now the streets are empty.

A potential support for small businesses, is recommendations about how to build a website. A lot of small businesses do not have websites, and this could be a place for businesses to communicate with their customers. Some businesses (plant nurseries) have started to over online services that did not exist prior to pandemic.

Sorry, I missed it. When is this survey coming? Who does it go to? We have some local folks doing a survey and I'd rather send out the one we are talking about....
Hilarie Verrengia
45:28
maybe a local digital firm could create a basic template for small businesses and provide a very affordable, quick way to get on line. We have a firm assisting our businesses with digital marketing tools.
aprilnowak
46:25
Thanks hillarie. I like this idea.

We sent out a survey to our retail and service businesses to see who is open and what they are doing differently and how they are reaching their customers and we have set up an open business list on our websites to advertise to the community who is open for business and to shop local!
Jess Paugh
49:07
I'm in a very rural area with small businesses that are not online. I'm struggling to get engagement virtually. They are used to face to face. How can you get the business community to talk, share, respond?
Hilarie Verrengia
49:34
we also have a business financial planner who is offering free 30 minute consults on financial triage during an emergency.

Agreed. I have been trying to help out businesses I love, but some aren’t in the most obvious places. If you don’t have a website, perhaps Yelp, Facebook, Google, etc.
Kimberlee
54:49
We are doing small chats via zoom. Been very effective
Sasha
54:56
Won't unmute, but wanted to add that we're experiencing shortage of human capacity. The same people doing multiple work and service are stretched very thin.

I have been in contact with a company that has a partnership with National Main Street. The company is called Locable.com. the setup very simple websites or just a landing page. They are offering a free business directory with the Main street communities for free. I am now compiling my list so they can do this for me here in Woodland Park.

I would love to have the one sheet! We are having trouble getting traction on our slack pages. I think lots of folks don't know how to use it!
Jess Paugh
57:34
Yes! Please share your one sheet for Slack!

I’m sorry if this question is a little out of the blue, but my internet has been dropping in and out so I’m not exactly aware of where we are in the conversation right now. I do Economic Development for the city of Trinidad, and I am meeting with city officials today to discuss what type of support our City government will be able to extend to our small business owners. We have put out a business survey and plan on pulling money from our marijuana tax revenue to offer support, most likely in the form of utilities breaks for business who have been impacted by COIVD-19 and residents who have lost their source of income, but we are trying to dtermine how to vet people and businesses who are requesting assistance. Do you all have any suggestions to offer as we formulate this relief fund?

On the news this morning: Yelp and GoFundMe are partnering for a "Donate now" button on a claimed Yelp profile.

It would be great to get a one page sheet on how to use Slack and Zoom out to this group so that we can share with our communities. Sounds like Boulder Partnership would be willing to share - thank you.

01:18:37
will we be able to review the results by community?
Sonya
01:18:55
also possible for individual agencies to keep theirs open longer, but we cut off collection to do a state wide summary
Sonya
01:20:03
Each agency will post to their own community and can have their own profile on Polco where they would see their own results
