How about we use chat for questions etc?

Has Colin said whether he is happy with his songs being streamed on the net (copyright-wise?)
Patrick’s iPad
25:31
Is anyone taking a full list of notes?
Steve Cimarosti
25:36
and whilst I'm talking about copyright, has anyone heard from Sandy Galea whether Kidswise content is able to be streamed online?
Tracey Piggott
26:00
padlet seems a good safe platform for kids n family to post things. jane Lister Wagga Presbyterian sent me a draft example. Different coloured ‘sticky notes’ relating to each age group. I’m advertising a new initiative called Be The Teacher by sending in clips of a puppet play or bible storytelling or reading a Christian kids book etc. Needs a safe platform and this seems a good possibility.
Tracey Piggott
27:47
We pre recorded our different sections on Saturday. It allowed take 2 or 3 to get it right. I wonder if even with livestream there could be a pre recorded spot if that would work better.
Kate Haggar
28:08
Kidswise posted on fb that if you have purchased videos you have permission to live steam them, and send home kidwise material adjusted to use at home

what are some creative (but safeministry compliant) ways to engage with youth discipleship when parents are often never in the picture?(high schoolers hang at the local shop until late, most parents often don't know they've come to youth group on a Friday night)
Tom Pattison
34:37
Sandy Galea did a video for Geneva Push/Reach Australia. Pretty helpful :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8cJP4ukJAI&feature=emb_logo

35:06
I wrote this a couple of days ago, when we were considering splitting our youth into small groups. Now we'll be moving to video, so some of them won't work, but here are some no contact games :)

Hi Folks. Thanks for making this resource happen. I have to tap out but appreciate the wisdom from the short time I could be here.
Patty Lee

- Pictionary- taboo- charades (includes “Adverbs” where they need to act out an adverb, Eg; quickly, happily)- one word stories- the one where you pick an animal and if the leader picks that animal too, you’re out- bang- apples to apples (Christian version of Cards against humanity)- codenames, maybe blue tack cards to the wall for easy seeing- family serious (someone in the middle does something funny, no one can laugh. If you do, you’re in the middle)- never have I ever (if concerned about moving, lose a finger every time you have done something)- animal call (everyone has an animal, you make the sound of someone else’s to “pass”, they “pass it on” as quickly as possible.)- 99 (someone says 99 in a silly voice and the person has to close their eyes and guess who it was)- pattern detective (someone leading a pattern, person has to guess)- job interview (people pick a silly job, a person who doesn’t know it comes in and has to answer questions while guessing. Eg; a monkey teacher.
Mitchell Brown
35:55
Thanks Patty!

36:08
Hey all, as I said in the youth min fb group, I’ve done an online permission form but if the diocese / YW does a standard one for all that would be better, is that possible in light of safe min / PSU memo yesterday? Saves me and everyone else anymore work but does create more work for YW...
Tracey Piggott
36:09
I had some iconcerns re using zoom from social media safe ministry. perspective. What are the issues? I’m a Zoom advocate but don’t want to break the rules.
Matt Stanley
36:13
Thanks Patty.

I’m very keen on what Andy says about permission. I’d prefer not to create something that I will need to change. PSU?

39:46
Is anyone in a pretty low socio economic area and come up with ways of reaching out to youth who may not have heaps of technology / helping them out to stay apart of the youth community?
Amanda Stavert
40:08
We recorded our zoom youth on Friday. Helps if you want to put up your talk online too.
Patrick’s iPad
40:36
are there other safe ministry issues with recording?
Mitchell Brown
40:38
@Chris Jones they would have to record their own zoom perspective and google drive it centrally for records sake
Michael Burgess
40:53
Should people hold off on holding Youth via Zoom until a call is made on whether it’s ok or not?
Chris Jones
41:05
Can we have that form in advance of this Friday please?
mstead

Hey Chris, all, I’ll get form to Michael later today and I’ll get Cornerstone Youth sending whatever else they have to Michael as well.
Chris Jones
45:09
@Andy - awesome. Thanks mate
Olivia Robson
46:29
We have connected the families to join a closed Facebook group where they can share ideas together and share videos and photos of the families working on their devotional packs.
Chris Jones
46:42
Qn - are there benefits from a Safe Ministry perspective or any other reason, to having a paid Zoom plan. Has anyone gone for a paid plan yet?
Patty Lee
47:37
Our church has paid for one because the free ones only run for 40 minutes. We thought about having a 10 minute toilet break, but it would be rough trying to set it up again, and we want to keep it as "normal" as possible with the 2 hours on Friday
Sam Cunningham
48:01
I believe a paid plan is what allows for breakout rooms and 24hour call length rather than the free 40 minute length!
John Young
48:07
Also allows breakout rooms
Jocelyn Bignill
50:19
Are there safe ministry concerns with this?
Jocelyn Bignill
50:41
Or because they’ve uploaded the videos to a public platform then it’s ok?
Mitchell Brown
51:32
Yep, worth the $20 makes it $5 a week. We spend more on food each weeks
Sam Cunningham
52:06
We’re looking into discord as a home base to do similar things with games and then in the future zoom for discussion groups after a talk ( we have Jackbox games and the like which we can screen share with on discord )
Adam Scott
52:10
I’d have thought there were significant safe min concerns with pointing out crew to tiktok
Sarah Hunziker
52:15
St Andrew's Wahroonga have set up a dropbox with resources for families - videos, sermon notes, colouring in etc in relation to the weeks message - we will have another folder this week. We also have a pintrest page with material for families to use. The livestream had a "family spot"
Patty Lee
53:15
I would have thought the permission to take and share photos of youth kids covered videos they make as well? (re; TikTok). Otherwise, you could cover it in the Zoom permission slip

We've chosen a private Facebook page for parents to join now as this means the parents can filter what they want their children to see for now. e.g. animations, kids reciting memory verses etc. It also builds community.

Lauren is the most humble genius I know!
Cathy Dell
01:02:24
Yeah Lauren! For Kids at Lalor Park- we copied Christ Church a bit and are using a live streamed kids spot to tell the story of the passage in a kids friendly way and then we've sent out activities that use a bit of paper but mainly using stuff most families have at home so it's very family ministry on sundays and helping parents see kids learn the same passage but in an age-friendly way
Kat
01:03:08
I’m sure there are things floating around already, but is anyone willing to share what they’ve sent out for family devotions/activities?
Patty Lee
01:03:10
That's so good. We prerecorded the kid's spot, but we put it as a separate clip on the same page you accessed the sermon. That way it was voluntary for parents

We had some incredible intergenerational Godly play, sung worship with requests from the children and YP ahead of time, walk and wonder in our homes or yards where possible. lots to learn but it was very interactive with landers sharing their tweens comments live on Facebook.

Many of the principles in the Blueprint docs (https://safeministry.org.au/blueprints/), FiS (https://safeministry.org.au/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/FaithfulnessInService_May-2018.pdf) especially Chapter 5, and the Social Contact Policy (https://safeministry.org.au/wp-content/uploads/pdf/PSU_SocialContactPolicy_v3_1.pdf) already address some basics of electronic communication. Important not to jump into things too quickly as we don't want to set up opportunities to allow inappropriate behaviours now or after the COVID-19 crisis. Many things discussed today sound like this is happening which is great but keep the focus :)
