I'm bilingual and I've found that attempting to write in my native language French, can cause construction issues and I end up writing Franglish! Not good. If I have to write in French then I think and write in French and think
Anneleis
54:33
Hi Syahrul, others might have different ideas about using multiple monitors, but I would think a single monitor would be better to remove distractions and allow you to just focus on the writing itself. References, and refining can come later.
Purva Gulyani
54:38
Nice suggestion Paula
Annabel Morris
55:07
Sorry about that .When I write in English, I think in English to write in English.
Huong NGUYEN
56:03
I am always distracted when writing because I stuck with language and more often, when I write something base on an author's argument, it keeps lead me to more references and I have to spend time to read when I am writing. How can you advise me to deal with this.
Andrew Ty
57:42
I teach in English, have a graduate degree in Creative Writing, and I STILL lack confidence in my writing. T_T

Is there any idea about paraphrasing. I usually feel difficulty in paraphrasing. I spend most of time to paraphrase a paragraph.
Chua Timothy
59:44
I'm rather linear in my thinking, short of being critical about it. And I think this is one big obstruction in my writing skill. I have heard many advices about different writing strategies, but I find that what's equally important is to train our thinking, conceptualizing, and formulating the constellation of literature into our own argument. I struggle with that a lot honestly
Karen Gainey
01:00:57

What strategies can a person who does not have a supervisor use to receive a review or advice on written work?
Pheobe Sun
01:07:12
@Chua Great advice. Change and train the way of thinking.
Anneleis
01:09:58
Hello Kourtney, the fear of writing is quote common, and something that Tonya touched on earlier. But I think the advice is, if you can’t write about what you need to write on, to write about the fear itself. I have sometimes done something like this, and when I finish my rambling on my feelings, I end up continuing that writing session on something a little more productive (although that doesn’t always happen).
Sreya Santhakumar
