Help. I am very self critical of my drawing and find it hard getting started.
Susannah Pal
01:12:32
It is always difficult to get started! I always find it hard when looking at the blank piece of paper. Especially in a class where it is the task to be creative. Perhaps you could start by referring to one of the images and changing it slightly.

I will try.

Try not to be too perfectionist- have a go! Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won’t! Main thing is to keep having a go!

Tips:
Susannah Pal
01:15:14
Start by blocking in main shapes as Sisetta is doing
Susannah Pal
01:15:32
You could block in with lightly with pencil first

I find it hard visually imagining an animal in my mind.
Susannah Pal
01:18:08
Yes me too! I personally would use reference images from the PDF i sent you. Or from googling. This may help you.

Susannah Pal
01:22:16
Yes Lorella, great! Start with blocking in idea and then you can alter it with imaginative details eg. horns, extra legs, more teeth etc.

I have been tearful and haven't drawn a thing. so I'm going to research into Norse mythology, brainstorm ideas and see if I can come up with anything.

don't worry jo- its fun to see what everyone has been doing - if you feel a bit upset don't worry!
Susannah Pal
01:29:00
Sorry, to hear that. I find making art an emotional experience sometimes too. Perhaps you are expecting a lot from a 15 minute drawing? Perhaps quick short drawings would help you get into it.
