BD = Business Development and looks like most of us do this role for our own businesses?

25:24
Agreed Wendy

25:54
That is why I do what I do!!

26:08
80% of sales are made on the 5th-12th contact

27:28
that's an eye opening statistic

27:42
getting clients

27:44
Getting discovered onlie!

27:51
consistency

27:53
marketing

27:55
time to do it!

27:56
enjoy BD, dedicating time to do it is key...

28:01
people knowing I exist

28:01
I don't know how to initiate the conversation with Execs and add value

28:02
content

28:04
knowing what to offer next - made the 1st sale - next step - what & when to offer the next service

28:05
networking

28:06
time to do it...and then get clear on messaging

28:13
clients and dedicating the time

28:14
managing online presence

28:19
Resources and time

28:25
Messaging and time

28:27

33:17
Do you have a structured approach to business development?

33:38
How far in advance do you plan for business development?

37:28
Structured approach but its not documented in a concise way

37:41
And you might then have a chat with yourself if you are the owner/business development and marketing person :)

37:45
Annual plan and monthly review and next level planning

38:19
Yes - structured. Daily and weekly with action plans from quarterly strategy.

38:23
And yes I agree there’s an opportunity here for a conversation with myself too!!

38:37
I wld like to put more structure into action

42:27
How do you build your databases and lists?

42:58
I use LinkedIn as a #1 platform, what works for you?

43:53
I use Linked in a lot I don’t send emails through there at all

44:16
local business associations

44:20
LinkedIn and Linked Sales Navigator are my favorite options.

44:20
Running events is a great way to build lists

44:24
networking groups mostly via zoom

44:26
Where do you networking?

44:33
*network

44:37
I find industry events work well

44:45
Networking groups

45:00
local business groups, online groups and when possible IRL events

45:26
BCD :) , Associations, LinkedIn

46:55
Do you do calls out to warm leads?

47:09
Always

52:51
Which tools do you use for project management?

53:03
Asana is what we use

53:33
Todoist - tried the more sophisticated ones but found Todoist nice and simple

53:52
Will have to check it out Fiona

54:28
Trello for BD also use Slack and Miro to support

54:31
Always interested to know what CRM you like too?

54:45
I use Really Simple Systems as a CRM

55:32
I’ve been using GreenRope for about 3 months - finding it hard to learn - but has a lot of functionality that this great for me (eg. courses, ticketing, appointments)

55:41
Salesforce

56:01
It is great because you can fully customise

56:30
I use a combo of Sales Navigator and Trello for CRM

01:01:18
Are the objections that regular pop up?

01:03:04
earlier in the webinar Sara mentioned she had some tips on qualifying leads - I’d be keen to hear a bit more about this.

01:03:07
We usually have people say its financial

01:03:51
Organic food

01:04:25
That is probably the key

01:04:54
fabulous - would love to see the handout on it

01:05:14
handout would be great please.

01:05:56
yes please for the handout

01:06:50
Will you often qualify online via questions via a survey? or is it always face-to-face/phone

01:06:57
The hand out would be great thank you

01:08:46
as a former HR Manager, I didn't connect with anyone who used that one....ie is it a bad time, but the other definitely

01:09:52
Objections may be lack of certainty in your product,,company or you..Sometimes it is just an excuse you have to dig deep through questions to understand that

01:11:18
I used to work for a timeshare company and had to cold call a lot of people (it wasn't a nice job!) our boss always made sure we were smiling through the calls as it makes you sound positive and confident!!

01:13:49
Thank you this has been really helpful

01:13:50
Ah Thanks Wendy 😁

01:14:00
I agree with Wendy understanding broader question will know prospect better
