I never heard of the "love food Love farms" tag line - if there are graphics or logos available tho I'd be happy to add them to our website and marketing materials.

YAY! So glad Cassie brought this up!
Jessica Roberts
01:21:49
Farmers markets are right in the middle of these topics and we should have a seat at the table.
Jessica Roberts
01:26:24
Yes, cause we need to know who our local legislators should contact.

01:26:30
Carolyn Partridge, Chair of the House AG Committee is my rep. I'll see what more I can learn from her.

02:01:55
would the Covid response staff be able to address Keri’s question on prioritization of vaccination of market staff and farmers?
Jessica Roberts
02:02:37
We plan to do data tracking again.
Jessica Roberts
02:03:36
Interesting - so we could have an intern do it.
Mieko Ozeki
02:04:48
Jessica - it is helpful data report and worth sharing the weekly report with ag vendors so they see the pricing trends statewide.
Jessica Roberts
02:05:59
Yes - we had some request and opportunity for that last year with veteran vendors going into a new food area. I make them available.
Jessica Roberts
02:06:44
Also helps when you get customers complaining your chicken prices are too high - actually we are on the low side statewide, and can show it.
Alissa Matthews, VAAFM
02:06:56
Yes, an intern can participate in the pricing data collection.
Mieko Ozeki
02:08:07
it takes about 30 minutes to gather data and 10 minutes to enter data and email report
Meghan Houlihan
02:10:02
The amount of time it takes depends on the number of vendors, how many products they carry, and how easy it is to find prices!
Jessica Roberts
02:11:48
It takes me a good 40 minutes to gather date because when I go around every vendor has something to tell me. I'd say 15 mins to enter data. Enlarging your spreadsheets at the start of market helps a lot if you have old eyes like me (printed).
Jessica Roberts
02:16:15
Marc - is there a list of these requirements online I can keep?
Andrew Graham, NOFA-VT (he/him/his)

Daniel Strohl
02:17:48
Right, Cassie. We're just payment processors, essentially.
Jessica Roberts
02:18:13
Exactly. Looking at the markets as the seller is a big problem.
Jessica Roberts
02:19:08
Another good reason to link to sellers pages than have one online ordering form. Which we were thinking of changing to - but we won't now.
Jessica Roberts
02:19:39
I meant sellers websites. That's how we did it last year.
Jessica Roberts
02:22:35
Markets are selling space. Not product.
Emmet Moseley-NOFA-VT Lincoln
02:22:50
When the Letter of Information comes out, NOFA-VT and the VTFMA should host a public information session and Q and A about this subject.
Mieko Ozeki
02:22:53
if licensing comes up for Markets, more likely that Markets would drop doing online sales.
Daniel Strohl
02:23:17
good idea, Emmet

02:29:55

Here is the link to the Hemp Program website, https://agriculture.vermont.gov/hemp, and specifically the hemp rules, https://agriculture.vermont.gov/sites/agriculture/files/documents/PHARM/hemp/Vermont_Hemp_Rules_effective_05_21_20.pdf. Section 5.3 covers the requirement for sales of hemp crops which are harvested and bucked. Trimmed flower is a processed product, and must meet testing and labeling requirements in other sections of the rules. It is the responsibility of the entity producing the product to be compliant. Again, happy to answer any questions, agr.hemp@vermont.gov.
Jessica Roberts
02:44:39
That's great!
Jessica Roberts
02:45:06
I'm guessing incentive helped a lot.
Jessica Roberts
02:53:32
You would have to have each vendor passing out incentive rewards!
