Hi Laura question for you what are some skills you would recommend a corporate recruiter or someone who wants to works in talent acquisition and HR should have that will help them succeed at their job? Would you say having a combination of technical skills in excel, word, and other Microsoft applications and conversation skills is a great start?
Atlantis Velazquez
01:03:05
You are right! We need to believe in our capabilities and be proud of our accomplishments.
Cheryl Quintana Leader
01:03:06
And, remember we had sadly been indoctrinated to be "less than" or "not as good as everyone around us" -- HOWEVER, WE ARE and VERY POWERFUL as who we are and what we are here to do!

you spoke of having mentors from areas simlar to ours, but what about those of us who have more than one area of interest?
Cesar Pacheco| University Relations
01:12:01
Can all of you elaborate more on what it means to graduate from UCLA and how having a UCLA degree is the best thing ever?
Abe Roca
01:14:08
Hi Laura I was also wondering which degree you think provides more skills that will set someone up for a successful career in HR and Talent acquisition an MBA or a Masters degree focused in HR? Or would you say its more work experience that will provide those necessary skills to make you a great HR professional?
Cheryl Quintana Leader
01:14:47
Those that are helpful in navigating your journey can be a team -- one that's more about guiding your personal skill sets, another that's good at finance for your goals there, another that's a social activist and knows about how to create an event that brings attention to the cause...and getting involved in a sport (team or individual) to sharpen your awareness of teamwork, build your confidence, trying out new things, further sculpt the attributes you bring as who you are to any position :D
Cheryl Quintana Leader
01:15:57
