Using Others’ Work in Our Own Creations
Students grow up with powerful technologies to access, share, copy, generate, and collaborate on creative work in new and evolving ways. They consume online media, but also create, publish, distribute, and critique. In this rich environment, students must interact with creative work ethically and legally. Whether they know it or not, copyright and fair use are directly relevant to these activities. Attendees will explore how students can re-use content legally and ethically, in the second of a two part series, Part 1: Copyright Basics and Part 2: Using Others’ Work in Our Own Creations.
