Spring Parenting Workshop Series, YM & YWHA of Washington Heights & Inwood
1. "Birth Stories: Reflect and Share"
Wednesday, March 17th, 8 to 9 pm
Did the pandemic change your pregnancy? Was your birth different from what you expected, planned or hoped for? How did these experiences impact how you feel as a mother? Join a facilitated discussion and sharing of birth stories, led by Karen Greene Ph.D., a clinical psychologist specializing in birth and postpartum issues, and Mara Bragg, Y Beginnings Parenting Center Manager.
2. "Ask the Psychiatrist"
Wednesday, April 28th, 8 to 9 pm
Dr. Esther Rollhaus, child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist, opens the floor to questions about postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, medications during pregnancy and nursing, mental health during COVID, parenting, and infant and toddler development. Please submit questions in advance. The session is meant to be informational but does not constitute medical consultation.
3. "Self-Care Retreat for Parents"
Wednesday, May 26th, 8 to 9 pm
Parents are invited to treat themselves to an hour "off duty" — precious time for self-care via guided imagery, sharing, brief meditation, and the creation of a tangible reminder of their power and resilience as parents, facilitated by Mara Bragg, Y Beginnings Parenting Center Manager.
