JULY 12, SAVOR THE EXPERIENCE: A Zoom creativity workshop by mixed media artist and arts educator Genise McGregor. Sign up for an opportunity to slow down and sharpen your observation skills while sampling culinary themed artworks. Satisfy your hunger to be creative by artistically celebrating your favorite treat and eating it too!
MATERIALS LIST: Bring several sheets of paper, a pencil, something to color with and something delicious to nibble! Napkins are optional.
JULY 19, EXPRESSIVE REMINISCENCE: Join mixed media artist and arts educator Genise McGregor for a refreshing Zoom workshop that dives into experimenting with paper. Take a tour of how exploring materials can influence artists and evolve their artworks. Dip your toes into the pool of your curiosity as you experiment to find out just how many ways you can work with this magnificent medium.
MATERIALS LIST: Bring a piece of cardboard (one side of a cereal box will work), pencil, scissors, glue and LOTS of different types of paper. This can include any types you have on hand: art paper, printer paper, junk mail, old magazines, food packaging, bits of wrapping paper, the more colors and types the better!
JULY 26, HANDCRAFTED CORRESPONDENCE: A Zoom creativity workshop by mixed media artist and arts educator Genise McGregor. Light a candle, grab a cup of tea and relax, as we rediscover the ways creatives have used written language to connect and communicate with others across distances and across time. Follow along step by step as you write your own message and construct an unusual presentation delivered right out of history.
MATERIALS LIST: Bring scissors, paper, pen, anything to doodle with, and stickers or tape. Optional items are crayons, and a small memento or photo. Feel free to bring a beverage of choice to enjoy as we create together!
