On Liberty: Zooming into Museums Across the Country
National Museum of the Marine Corps
Friday July 23, 5:00pm ET
Join the Intrepid Museum and fellow veterans, service members and their loved ones for a virtual staycation. We will be Zooming into Virginia to visit with the National Museum of the Marine Corps and exploring the service of Marines on aircraft carriers like Intrepid. Jessica Williams, Intrepid Museum’s curator of history, will highlight the experiences of Marines who served on Intrepid. Mike Styka, retired MGySgt USMC and docent at the National Museum of the Marine Corps, will share his experiences as a Marine serving on board aircraft carriers, as well as related highlights from the museum’s collections/exhibitions.
Veterans Programs are made possible by public funds facilitated by the New York City Council Committee on Veterans, in partnership with the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs. These programs are also supported by the Craig Newmark Philanthropic Fund. The Museum’s education programs are supported, in part, by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
