The WiS NextGen Committee continues its series of Virtual Coffee Chats with May’s discussion, hosted by Nathan Herbert, Global Structured Finance Attorney at Ford, and Angela Ulum, Partner at Mayer Brown, exploring the differences between mentors and sponsors and discussing:
•The unique value proposition of each of these types of relationships
•How to cultivate these relationships
•Personal stories of successful relationships - and lessons learned
Attendees are encouraged to review the TedTalk with Carla Harris (this transcript of the discussion is also available) and the piece from the Center for Creative Leadership that discuss the differences between these key types of professional relationships. What are WiS Virtual Coffee Chats?
The WiS Virtual Coffee Chats are a series of casual networking events discussing thought-provoking topics to encourage conversations and connections hosted by our WiS NextGen Committee. It is always better to chat face-to-face, so we encourage turning cameras on during the Coffee Chats but also understand if your circumstances will not allow it.
Who should attend?
This event is open to all levels and to both women and men. This event is intentionally structured to allow for people to stop by whenever their schedule allows – so please feel free to come by even if you are running late or need to leave early!
