Around Remsen and Steuben
The first settlers of the wilderness that became the towns of Remsen and Steuben were hearty pioneers, Welsh immigrants, and a famous Revolutionary War hero. The area flourished into a place of farming, manufacturing, business, and religion. Settlers ranged from woodsmen to large working families to pious pastors. Local journalist and author Megan Plete-Postol will share photos and stories of early Remsen and northern Oneida County in this virtual presentation.
