ActionAid is all about creating long-term, sustainable change.
We believe that you must tackle the root causes of negative behaviours to create lasting change.
That is why we use the Behaviour Change model to tackle deeply ingrained issues like female genital mutilation, child marriage and violence against women in Kenya, Ethiopia, and Nepal.
We work with experts in the Centre for Behaviour Change in University College London (UCL) to develop and apply this model.
Typically used in the health sector, this is the first time Behaviour Change has been used in this context.
We will be joined by Yusef Abdi, ActionAid Kenya Regional Coordinator. Yusef is experienced in implementing the Behaviour Change model in Kenya and will share with us some examples.
The event will be chaired by Triona Pender, Head of Programmes, ActionAid Ireland.
