Policy Teach-In: What is Federal Parity?
For the last three decades the federal government has disproportionally given more federal support to the building of highways and roads, over the maintenance and expansion of public transit. This is often referred to the 80/20 spilt, with 80% going to highways and 20% going to public transit.

With a Democratic Majority and the Surface Transportation Bill, where this legislation is written, up for renewal this summer, there is a possibility of undoing an inequitable law that has hurt transit riders for decades.

Join us on Thursday, February 25th @ 6:00pm to hear from Scott Goldstein, Policy Director at Transportation for America and Libero Della Piana, Senior Strategist from Alliance for A Just Society talk about this policy and what it would take to change this rule and provide transit systems with much needed federal support.
