Beyond the Basics with micro:bit – Collecting Data from a Remote micro:bit
"Do you have prior experience coding with the micro:bit? Are you interested in leveraging the micro:bit (V1 and/or V2) sensors to collect and analyse data and to connect to the new Ontario Science and Technology curriculum expectations?
Lisa Anne Floyd will provide step-by-step instructions to collect data using micro:bit (V1 and/or V2) built-in sensors. By connecting with a second micro:bit remotely, students can collect data over time and then analyze the data through spreadsheet software. Students can apply these tools and skills in their science and technology investigations as they engage in experiments or the engineering design process.
Recommended Experience/Grade Level:
This session is geared towards educators of grades 4-8 who have prior experience coding with the micro:bit.
Required Materials:
Although not required for this session, a micro:bit (any version) is required if educators plan on incorporating the presented activities in their classroom.
